Royal Russell Junior School Bulletin Autumn Term
Mr Thompson Dear Parents, In Assembly on Monday morning I had to eat a large slice of humble pie in relation to my weekend rugby predictions, however it did give me the ideal opportunity to talk to the children about how important it is that we deal with disappointment in a positive manner as we can t always be winners. Year 2 wings and Year 5 maths investigations have been on my lesson observations this week and once again I was delighted with the standard of the work and of course the high quality of teaching in both sessions. On the subject of quality teaching I wonder how many of you would teach your children to drink hot drinks whilst driving and texting / talking on your mobile something I m afraid I see all too often on the morning school run. I am very much looking forward to the inaugural HM s lunch next week and hope that many more of you will take up this opportunity in the future. Good luck to our U11 boys football team who are competing in the qualifying round of the ISFA tournament tomorrow and to our U9 hockey girls and Biathletes who are also involved in competition this weekend. Enjoy the weekend. Best Wishes

Our Lower Junior pupils, as well as those in Years 5 and 6 learning Spanish, also enjoy fun and interactive lessons using linguascope.com to which we still subscribe. The username remains rrschool but the new password this year is picasso It would be really helpful if Year 5 and Year 6 children could use this website to practise their French and Spanish regularly at home (at least once a week) or even on the go during the holidays as you can download the free app! The most adventurous ones could even try a bit of German or Italian in their free time!

All entries should be on A5 paper or card and can be portrait or landscape.
