Freedom to think. Empower to be THE SCHOOL

SGS is a very happy, exciting and happening place to learn and work, where the student-teacher relationships are considered utmost important to build a lasting bond of trust & respect for both learners and the mentors. We opened our doors in 2017 with an amazing student cohort of 320 students in the very first year and a team of 80 dedicated and experienced individuals who are playing different roles of Teachers, Assistant Teachers, IT Techies, Admin, Class Helpers, Security and Housekeeping under the leadership & guidance of Ms. Manjula Kasturi. In the very first year our SGS team has successfully managed to get the accreditation from both the internationally recognized and esteem boards of the International Baccalaureate (IB PYP) & Cambridge IGCSE (IN192), British council (ISA). This has enabled our senior students to appear for the Cambridge Board IGCSE examinations immediately. Education is not preparation for life; Education is life itself. The greatest gift any parent can give their child is a good education, the challenge then is to find the right educational institution that would gift wrap this knowledge and impart it in a manner that results in creating leaders of the future with academics that are both brilliant and provide a rock solid foundation on which empires can be built. Manjula Kasturi Principal Mir Murtuza Ali Director & Founder We do not mould our students into what we want them to be; we simply unfold what is within them. We believe in placing the student at the centre of their own education and that learning is a life-long experience, hence our school motto Let s Aspire for Excellence, encourages the students to take responsibility for their own learning along with the Teaching Faculty and to support others in their efforts.

CREATIVITY What resonates the most with me is creativity. I really enjoy the fact that you have to think out of the box, present your learning in a creative manner. So it s not just about whether you know your stuff but also if you can showcase it artistically. That is so exciting!

PRIMARY YEARS IB(Primary year Programme) The IB PYP is an international curriculum framework designed for children between the ages of 3 and 12 years. This program is based on the latest educational research and believes that each child has their own personality, learning style and combination of intelligence types. Importantly for our youngest learners, the IBPYP focuses on their social, physical, emotional and cultural needs as part of a strong academic ethos. Internationalism Internationalism is a key aspect of the PYP curriculum. The students are exposed to alternative perspectives and examples of working methods and data from around the world. Teachers use tried and tested techniques from many countries and search for new ideas from different cultures. Inquiry based learning Teaching methods build on student s individual knowledge and interests. Inquiry is the leading but not exclusive pedagogical approach of the PYP. It is recognized as being intimately connected with the development of children s comprehension of the world. Inquiry is the process initiated by the learner or the teacher which moves the learner fromhis or her current level of understanding to a new and deeper level of understanding. This can mean: Exploring, wondering and questioning Experimenting and playing with possibilities Researching and seeking information Collecting data and reporting findings Clarifying existing ideas and reappraising events Making and testing theories Making predictions and acting purposefully to see what happens Elaborating on solutions to problems

The IB PYP develops Sensitivity to the experiences of others through the curriculum. The characteristics listed in the student profile. The attitudes that are an explicit element of the programme. The expectation of socially-responsible action as a result of the learning experience. IBPYP Programme model Read more about the PYP on the International Baccalaureate website http://www.ibo.org/programmes/primary-years-programme/what-isthe-pyp/... Beliefs and Values The IB Learner Profile Program of Inquiry Beliefs and Values What are the beliefs and values reflected in the IB PYP? The PYP philosophy has the following key beliefs and values which are in alignment with our school's ethos. Build independent, life-long learners The PYP believes that learning is an endless journey and focuses on making students life-long learners. Students are engaged meaningfully to develop thinking, research, communication, social and self-management skills to build themselves as independent learners.

Develop the attributes of the Learner Profile The Learner Profile is the IB mission statement in practice and lists ten important and universal human attributes we want our students to develop and demonstrate. These attributes build the character of the students and promote international mindedness in them. You can read more about the IB Learner Profile. The International Baccalaureate (IB) Learner Profile describes a broad range of human capacities and responsibilities that go beyond academic success. They imply a commitment to help all members of the school community learn to respect themselves and the world around them.
