Daughter of Sandra Vaughn, Cheyenne is October s senior student of the month. Cheyenne enjoys reading, watching Netflix, and hanging out with friends and family in her free time. Cheyenne is involved in many school organizations including Interact, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society, National Society of High School Scholars, the Elkhart Big Red Band, and the 4 th Wall Drama Club. Cheyenne received best speech student her freshman year, top LD Debate speaker her sophomore year, and best supporting actress her junior year. Cheyenne gives back to her community in many ways; she is a student leader in her youth group, coordinator for Operation Christmas Child for Southside Baptist Church, and has spent the last two summers on mission trips. Her plans after high school include hopefully attending either Texas A&M or Baylor to major in International Studies with a minor in Arabic before going on to law school to get a degree in International law. Cheyenne then hopes to get into the diplomat program and travel the world before settling down and starting a family. Cheyenne s favorite class this year is Honors Gov t because the gov t is a big part of our lives and understanding how it works and our part in it is a big deal. Cheyenne likes Elkhart ISD because I ve known the kids in my class since we were in Kindergarten so we are all like family. Cheyenne s teachers had countless things to say about this senior: Coach Blackmon Cheyenne is a wonderful student. She is always challenging herself to be the best. She is always on task and eager to learn. She has a great future ahead of her. Mr. Canaday- Cheyenne is a very hard worker in band. She does what is necessary and then some to help the band succeed. Mrs. Reece- Cheyenne is a model student, when you give her an assignment, or a job to do, she runs away with it! It s not just done to meet standards but done to superior ratings. I m glad to have her back in class again. Mr. Gazaway- Cheyenne Vaughn is a bright and vivacious young lady to have in class. I very much enjoy the bantering that we share 7 th period! It is fun discussing our common interests in reading, current affairs and life in general. Cheyenne is involved in a lot of activities and does an outstanding job of balancing all her pursuits. I m sure that she will be quite successful in any endeavor that she chooses to pursue

Daughter of Daughter of Eldie and Joe Graves, Aly is October s junior student of the month. Aly has been the student of the month in her freshmen, sophomore and her junior year. Aly likes to attend competitive shooting events, fish, hunt, spend time at the lake and just have fun with her family and friends. Aly is involved in many different clubs and organizations. One of her favorite clubs that she is a member of is the Houston County Shooting Sports, and she is also a member of FFA, FCA, FTA, 4-H, UIL, NSSA, NSCA, NHS, Interact, and the Spanish club. Aly likes to volunteer at the Grapeland Public Library, when she can. Aly has won many awards: Junior angler lake record for Fairfield Lake, All A s every year, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Sporting Clays Shoot- second place/ $2,000 scholarship, and a 12 gauge shotgun, belt buckle; Allen Eagle Competitive Shooting Team Clays Shoot HOA Lady Championship Senior 1; Comal County 4-H Shotgun Invitational 2014 ladies Runner Up HOA Senior 1 After Aly finishes high school, she would like to get her basics at a community college and then transfer to another college to finish out her degree and become a teacher. Eventually Aly wants to work her way up to becoming a principal. Aly s favorite class this year is Ag business, because we accomplish new and great things every day. Aly s likes Elkhart ISD because of the teachers who are there to help you achieve. There are so many teachers to help guide you and lead you in the right direction for your future. Aly s teachers had great things to say about this junior: Mr. Dominguez- Aly is a very responsible student, she is always ready to learn. I love having her in my class. Mrs. Coppedge- Aly Graves is one of the most dedicated students I have seen. She displays an exceptional work ethic and is dedicated to producing quality work. Aly is congenial and is always a pleasure in class. I see a bright future for her in whatever she chooses to pursue. Mrs. Lock- I had Aly in Principles of Education & Training last year and she is enrolled in Instructional Practices in Education and Training this year to be a library aide. Aly is an exceptional student and I thoroughly enjoyed having her in class. She is very self-motivated and takes her education seriously. Aly is very deserving of this honor, and she will be outstanding in her chosen career path! Mr. Gibson- Aly has a positive attitude and has a very creative personality. She is the driving force in the FFA. Coach Huff- Aly Graves is a wonderful young lady. I have really enjoyed getting to know her over the past few years. Not only is she a very smart young lady she is very respectful to everyone. Aly goes out of her way to be nice to everyone. I have Aly in my college class this year and she doesn t hesitate to

help the other students out when they need help. Aly is also my track manager and she is a great one. She takes care of every one of us at the track meets including me.

Daughter of Russel and Krista Heuer, Sheyenne is October s sophomore student of the month. Sheyenne enjoys playing softball and watching movies. Sheyenne is very involved in school; she is a member of Interact club. Sheyenne also plays volleyball and softball. Sheyenne s favorite class this year is speech because, I get to have fun and learn how to become a better speaker. What Sheyenne likes best about Elkhart High School is that it s a safe environment to hang out with friends and do fun stuff. Sheyenne has received numerous awards such as, All A Honor Roll, Presidential Award, and Best Catcher of the Year in softball. After high school Sheyenne plans to attend the University of Washington and become a defense lawyer. Shyenne s teachers had numerous things to say about this sophomore: Mr. Mitchell- This is the second year I ve had Shyenne in class. She works well with others, regularly contributes creative thought, and produces high quality work. Mr. Dominguez- Shyeene is a super student with a great sense of humor. I enjoy having her in my class. Mrs. Symmank- Sheyenne is extremely bright and kind. She is very social, getting along well with her peers and teachers. I admire Sheyenne s motivation each day. She s a terrific girl!! Mrs. Langley- Shyenne is an absolute pleasure to teach. She is a student who is serious about her education and has a heart of gold. She is goofy and a lot of fun. Her personality makes her such a neat young lady. She is involved in so many aspects of high school and such a well- rounded student. She enjoys life and it shows in her attitude. I am so proud to know that I have got to teach this young lady and I am excited about her future. She will be whatever she sets her mind to.

Son of Roger and Jessica Mays, Landry is October s freshmen student of the month. Landry enjoys playing sports, and hanging out with his family. Landry is a part of the Interact club at school and likes to be involved with all the clubs happenings. Landry is involved in football, basketball and the baseball team. Landry s favorite class this year at Elkhart High is athletics because I love sports. Landry likes Elkhart high school because the staff are so helpful, and always are there for the students. After High School Landry plans to go to college and become a coach. Landry s teachers had plenty of things to say about this freshmen: Coach Blackmon- Landry is a natural leader amongst his peers. He is intelligent and witty and a pleasure to have in class. I think he will grow into a great Elkhart High School student and represent our community with honor and respect. Mrs. Nichols- Landry Mays has been a nice and respectable young man to have in class. I m looking forward to a great year with him. Coach Wells- Landry Mays is an outstanding young man. Landry has all of the qualities that will make him successful in life. Coach Smith - "Landry is an outstanding young man who has been a pleasure to come to know and coach. He is mature well beyond his age, and he has an extremely bright future ahead of him here at EHS and well beyond." Mrs. Stanfield- Landry is in my Lifetime Nutrition & Wellness Class. He is a friendly, conscientious student. His actions reflect his positive values, mature ideas, and good attitude toward school. He is well-liked by his peers and fun to be around. Landry is a terrific young man who is deserving of this award. Congratulations! Mrs. Taylor- Landry is a well-rounded young man and works to maintain his good grades in class. He can be a lot of fun in class and definitely make our discussions in class a lot more interesting!!! :) I really enjoying having him. Mrs. Chicas- Landry es un chico muy excelente. Es muy estudioso y trabajador. Es muy respetuoso y le gusta obedecer. Gracias Landry por ser un buen estudiante! Mr. Mitchell- Landry has been a diligent learner and has shown a willingness to work hard in class. He is off to a great start in pre-ap geometry.
