Good Friday Public Holiday Friday 30 March This week Personal Development lessons will be at the forefront of learning as students discuss, read about, role play, view texts and interact with media to learn more about what bullying is and the impact that it can have on themselves and others. Students will learn about the importance of the role of the bystander and how they can be so important in difficult situations if they take the right action. This topic is covered regularly in class in formal and informal ways but will be highlighted in this week of the National Day of Action Against Bullying. It was a pleasure to attend the first P&C meeting for the year on Tuesday night. We are really fortunate to have a small band of dedicated volunteers who help coordinate our canteen and Uniform Shop, and tirelessly give their time to organise and carry out fundraising activities to help all of our students. They have a number of targets already set for the year and we greatly appreciate their effort and contributions. The next meeting will be the Annual General Meeting and I urge you to seriously consider thinking about joining the P&C and maybe even taking on a role. Giving a little time to assist with some of their activities is a great way to show your children how much you value school and their education. The P&C motto is Many Hands Make Light Work and that is so true. Just a reminder to check our newsletter, App, Seesaw and Facebook page to keep up to date with what is happening and when in our school. Gardening Club Firstly, we had to use our hands or rakes to pull the hay off the garden beds. We grabbed a shovel or fork and turned the soil. The soil was really hard so it made it harder to turn. We then put some fertiliser and compost on the beds and mixed it through. Then some people went over and helped Lyn plant seedlings. We planted Onions, Snow Peas, Spinach, Lettuce and Kale. Once the plants were planted we mulched the garden beds and watered them. Report by Haylee Tresham and Maddie Merritt
