Dorset s Advantages Dorset College is committed to providing innovative, student-centred teaching to International and Canadian students. IELTS/TOEFL EXEMPTION Upon arrival, students who do not have a sufficient IELTS/TOEFL score will be given a placement test to determine their English level. Qualified students are eligible to transfer to our partnering universities. 02. UNIQUE UNIVERSITY TRANSFER (DIPLOMA) PROGRAM Upon successful completion of the diploma program at Dorset, students can transfer to one of Dorset s partnering universities which are highly ranked by Maclean's Magazine and the Globe and Mail to complete their Bachelor s or Master s Degree. 0. PGSA PROGRAM FOR POST-GRADUATE STUDENTS Students who successfully complete Dorset s PGSA program can transfer to the Master of Administration Program at Cape Breton University or Trinity Western University. 04. TRIMESTER SYSTEM Since Dorset has intakes (January, May and September) every year, students will be able to study semesters a year and reduce the length of time to graduate. 05. WORK PERMIT UPON GRADUATION Dorset students who complete a diploma/degree at our partnering universities are eligible for a post graduation work permit for up to years. 06. SMALL CLASSROOM SIZES The amount of students ranges from 10-20 per classroom. We ensure individual attention as much as possible. 2

Sciences The student studying sciences programs can choose from a wide selection of courses including Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Physics, etc. The first year of Science program would provide students the core courses and allow student to choose their specialization in a specific area in the senior year. The Dorset College transfer program in Science is a four-year degree program. Students who successfully complete 0 credits program requirement with sufficient GPA will be eligible to transfer to second year of our partnering universities (Please see below University Destination ). Studies Program

Studies The degree is designed to build a strong foundation in business fundamentals and then go on to develop specialized knowledge and skills in your major area of study. The degree also develops the student's practical managerial skills, communication skills and business decision-making capability. The Dorset College transfer program in business studies is a one year degree programs. Students who successfully complete the 0 credits program requirement with sufficient GPA will be eligible to transfer to second year of our partnering college. After completion of the 2 year Diploma in Administration in our partnering college, student may apply to Bachelor degree studies at The University of British Columbia (UBC), Simon Fraser University (SFU), and University of Victoria (UVIC) by satisfying the receiving institutions requirements. Administration Program

Administration The degree is designed to give a broad knowledge of the functional aspects of a company and their interconnection, while also allowing for specialization in a particular area. The programs expose students to a variety of core courses and allow students to specialize in a specific academic area. The degree also develops the student's practical managerial skills, communication skills and business decision-making capability. The Dorset College transfer program in Administration is a two-year degree program. Students who successfully complete 60 credits program requirement with sufficient GPA will be eligible to transfer to third year of our partnering universities (Please see below University Destination ). AST Studies Upon successful completion of the Certificate in Automotive Service Technician Studies at Dorset College, students are guaranteed transfer to the Automobile Mechanics (AM) Diploma program at Laurier Macdonald Career Centre under English Montreal School Board or Automotive Service Technician (AST) Diploma program at BCIT. The Certificate in Automotive Service Technician Studies at Dorset College is a 26 weeks long program that consists of specially designed courses in Automotive Science, Technical Communications, English Interactions, and Oral English. This certificate program enables international students to: strengthen their written and oral English skills learn basic automotive technical knowledge and mechanical reasoning skills become familiar with western academic style and culture Students complete the 6 courses, as which: Automotive Service Technician Studies Certificate Term 1 Term 2 Automotive Science I English Interactions I Oral Fluency I Automotive Science II English Interactions II Oral Fluency II AME Studies Upon successful completion of the Certificate in Aircraft Maintenance Studies at Dorset College, students are guaranteed transfer to the Avionics Technician - Aircraft Maintenance at Fanshawe College or Aircraft Maintenance Engineering M Category diploma program at the BCIT. Preparation for Graduates School Applicants

PGSA The Preparation for Graduates School Applicants (PGSA) program is unique program provided only by Dorset College. This program is intended for international students who have already completed an undergraduate degree in their home country and are now planning to do a Master s degree in Canada or the United States. This program provides students with an opportunity to improve their English skills while preparing students for entrance into a graduate program at a North American university. Upon successfully completion of this program (8 courses) with sufficient GPA and other requirements will be eligible to enter the MBA program provided by our partnering universities (Please see below University Destination ). Your Pathway To Success Admission Requirements Note: The following information applies to general entrance only; see the program information for additional program-specific admission requirements. 01. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS ALL APPLICANTS FOR ADMISSION TO THE COLLEGE MUST SATISFY AT LEAST ONE OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: BC secondary school graduation or the equivalent Completion of a certificate or equivalent from a special needs program and has been in school for 12 years 02. LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT ALL APPLICANTS TO THE COLLEGE MUST DEMONSTRATE PROFICIENCY IN ENGLISH BY PROVIDING PROOF OF ONE OF THE FOLLOWING: English 12 - minimum final grade of 50% Communications 12 - minimum final grade of 67% International Baccalaureate (IB) English Language A (Higher Level) - minimum mark of 5 IELTS - Minimum overall ban test score of 6.0 overall with no band test score below 5.5 TOEFL - Minimum score 80 (Internet based), or Minimum score 21 (Computer based), or Minimum score 550 (Paper based) LPI - Minimum score of 4 14 0. OTHER OPTIONS 1. Demonstrate sufficient proficiency in English on the Dorset English Proficiency Exam (50%), or 2.
