Talked about many items and set the wheels moving on a few of them 2.Working on organizing and meeting with the new members of the SCC Staff relations committee. How can the church help me to attain these goals? 1.Prayers!!

Staff Report to Council March, 2019 Don N Johnson, Interim Pastor February was the busiest and most productive month for me in a number of ways: 1. On February 3 we hosted the Delps from Ecuador and they co-preached the sermon with me on the Covenant value of Missions. 2. On Monday February 3 I joined Darrell Stone for an all-day experience at the Creekside Middle School with 300 7 th grade boys in something called the I.D. Project about moral formation, choices and respect. 3. We gathered as a larger worship planning tem on February 6 with Millicent DeLozier, Ashley and Rebecca to plan out Lent/Easter. 4. Boy Scouts served and were honored in worship on February 10 th. 5. I began conversations with PushPay digital giving platform on February 18 th and we are now having a presentation brought to CCC on Thursday, March 7 th at 6:00 p.m,. 6. On Saturday, February 23 the CCC Council had a retreat at which the Staff Relations Committee was formally approved and constituted: Denny, Marlene, Nancy and Gary Maschmeyer. I will convene an orientation meeting during the 3 rd week of March. a. I have met with all staff persons and their job descriptions to make updates to what they are actually doing and will bring any change recommendations to the SRC. 7. For the Sundays of March 3, 10, and 17 I hosted a New Member Class. One person has filled out an application. Names of prospective members will be sent to the Chair and Council to follow the process set out in the ByLaws Article I: council member meets with applicant, Chair calls for a business meeting for the vote, new members will be received at next Communion Sunday. a. Currently CCC has 77 members, not all of whom are active or living in Cincinnati. I would like to call a group who knows these persons by name to reach out to them expressing our desire for their return or to discover if they are worshiping/belonging elsewhere. This is very delicate and should proceed with care. But done well, that would be a gift to the incoming lead pastor. 8. Darrell Stone has volunteered to teach a Basic Bible Story class for new believers during the six weeks of Lent (I will join him). 9. On Monday, February 25 Pastor Joseph Adarkwa-Aduasah from the Church of Pentecost (across the parking lot) and I met for a very long lunch and will be doing a pulpit exchange sometime in March Ashley Gase, Worship Leader February was a great month for Worship Ministry and I'm looking forward to implementing new and creative aspects of worship as we begin the Lenten season. 1. We introduced a few new songs to our Sunday services. I'm always on the hunt for new songs that glorify God and edify the body. I also love hearing feedback about what's working well and what's not! 2. My plans for Lent kickoff have been derailed as I just had gallbladder surgery. I'm thankful to staff and siblings in Christ who have stepped up to help keep the players spinning while I recover! 3. Diana with her helpers Ed Gase and Charlie Garrison got all the winter decorations taken down last week. So thankful for their help! We've put the

wooden feature wall back up on the platform. Lenten decorations will be very simple and subtle. We will be focusing on the cross. 4. I am currently in the planning stages for Holy Week. We will hold services for Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. Pastor Don and I are working closely for a vision and plan for this special season. 5. The last action item currently on my list is to get some IT expertise about the computer in the sound booth. We've been having more technical difficulties lately so we're evaluating if we needed to replace the computer or go with a different software for our projectors. I can't tell you how much it means to me to have all the love and support and trust of my church family as I continue to grow in my role! Love and blessings to you all. Rebecca Homan, Children, Youth, & Families Pastor February Highlights: - Ministry Team has been formed - Youth served at Hands Against Hunger on 2/16 - Youth went to WinterJam on 2/16 Upcoming March Items - Youth to attend Cedarmania at Cedarville University on 3/23 - Youth will start Financial Peace for Teens on 3/14 o I would love to host an adult class, but need facilitator(s) - Distributing a Lenten Practices for Family Calendar o Each day focuses on a Prayer, Fasting, or Almsgiving/Service - Rainie Owen is jumping on board to teach God Squad o I am praying about who to ask to be an assistant/teacher looking for 2 more - Working with Amy Wolff to hire another person to assist with Kristen Buddies o This person would also, ideally, be able to help with Caleb Nouvi so that his parents can attend worship Regina Schroer, Administration 1. With the guidance of my administrative ministry team, we evaluated, purchased and installed a new color office printer, copier, scanner, fax machine. The team also decided to give my old machine to Rebecca for use with the children s ministry.

2. Administrative ministry team is working out really well. So far we are communicating with emails. Very thankful that Jim Jacobs, Kathy Ullrich, and Carolyn Maschmeyer agreed to be on my team. 3. The ministry teams next assignment is to evaluate directory apps that allow you to text, call, email people and get directions to their home with the touch of a button. 4. Deadline and dates are still the most important thing to be aware of. Please, please, please reserve a space, even if it is just for two people. 5. With Pastor Don s blessing, we will begin a new work schedule for me, I will work four five hour days instead of five four hour days. This is in hopes to alleviate a lot of scheduling problems with my many dr. appts. This change will take place the week of March 4 th.
