Tournament Dates: Venue South Zone Inter University: 22 nd January 2019 SRM IST Campus to Kattankulathur (Chennai) 26 th January 2019 Kancheepuram District Pin 603 203, Tamil Nadu INTER ZONE WILL BE CONDUCTED FROM 28 th to 31 st JANUARY 2019 Reception: Participating teams may please intimate to the Organising Secretary at SRM IST Campus, Kattankulathur- 603203, their date, mode and time of arrival well in advance. The University is located in the suburban of Chennai, midway between Tambaram and Chengalpattu. Several passenger and city buses shuttle between Chennai and Chengalpattu. Electric trains from Chennai to Chengalpattu, stop at Potheri railway station, in front of which the University is located on the GST Road. Teams reaching Chennai Central Railway station Chennai can board electric train at Park station (just in front of the central railway station) and get down at Potheri. Teams coming via Trichirapalli to Chennai can get down at Chengalpattu(CGL) and board a electric train to Potheri (15km). Accommodation: The teams shall be provided unfurnished accommodation in the university hostels 24 hours prior to the commencement of the matches and teams have to vacate the accommodation soon after their last match. Teams should bring their beddings and own lock and key. Each team will have to pay a caution deposit of Rs. 2,000/- which shall be refunded at the time of departure of the team, after adjusting the cost of damages, if any. Managers Meeting: The meeting of all the managers of participating teams will be held on 21-01-2018 at 6:00.p.m. in the Department of Physical Education & Sports Sciences (Near Dental Ground) of the University campus at Kattankulathur. The managers should hand over four copies of the duly certified eligibility Performa along with the player s identity cards to the organizing secretary in the meeting.
Additional Informations / Instructions: The managers of the teams should pay Rs.1,500/- per match as officiating charges to the organizing secretary before the commencement of their match. Wilson AO tennis balls will be used in the tournament - Rs.500/-Per cane. The tournaments will be played as per the latest AITA rules, & AIU modified rule. In support of the Eligibility details of the students, taking part in the Inter-University Tennis Men Tournament, Xerox copies of their 10 th class (SSLC) and (HSC) intermediate pass & provisional certificate of the degree (in case of P.G students) certificates attested by the director of physical education concerned must be submitted to the organizing secretary. Students without the above documents will not be allowed take part in the Interuniversity Tournament. The organizing secretary reserves the right to make changes in the program and venue, if necessary, which shall be final and binding on the participant teams The teams should report in the grounds at least thirty minutes prior to the commencement of their matches The Team should make their own arrangement for boarding (Number of Canteens are available inside the campus both Veg / Non- Veg food). Food will also be served in the hostel on payment by request. South Zone Inter University Tennis for Men Tournament 2018-19 Organised by SRM Institute of Science & Technology SCHEDULE OF THE MATCHES IN THE TENNIS MEN SECTION COURT - 1 Matches: 1,2,9,10,17,18,25&26 will be played on 22.01.2019 Morning Session Matches: 3,4,5,6,11,12,13,14,19,20,21,22,27,28,29&30 will be played on 22.01.2019 After Noon Session Matches: 7,8,15,16,23,24,31&32 will be played on 23.01.2019 Morning Session Matches: 33 to 48 will be played on 23.01.2019 After Noon Session Matches: 49 to 56 will be played on 24.01.2019 Morning Session Matches: 52 to 60 will be played on 24.01.2019 After Noon Session Four Clay courts with Floodlit Facilities Quarter Final Matches (61-64) will be played on 25.01.2019 Morning Session Semi Final Matches will commence on 26.01.2019 Morning Session at 6.30 am. Morning Session Matches will start at 6.30am and the Afternoon Session will start at 2.30pm Teams should report 30 minutes before the schedule Time. The Organizing Secretary reserves the right to change the match schedule, match venue / courts if necessary. Team should report with proper uniform.
