Dear Parents and Students: I would like to thank everyone for an excellent start to the school year. It has been fantastic to see the parent and community support for all of the programs and students at Our Lady of the Angels. As we moved through our first set of three way conferences it was great to see many of you in the school working as a team to achieve success. This month we say a huge thank you to Mr. Kumpf for his service at OLA and welcome back from leave Mr. Rice it s great to have you back! We also celebrated Miss Diachuk s induction into the teaching profession at a beautiful ATA ceremony congratulation Miss Diachuk. This week we will be remembering all of those who have served our great country at our Remembrance Day Ceremony at 9:00 a.m. on November 6 th. All are welcome to join us as we show our respect and appreciation for those who sacrificed so much. November 16 20 will be the period of time the tabernacle and monstrance will be at OLA and the students will have the opportunity to experience Eucharistic Adoration with their classes. ! Library News I want to THANK all of the Readers that we had in this month to help celebrate READ-IN: Thanks to: Mr. Shawn Haggerty, Ms. Birgit Blizzard, Mayor Katchur, Mr. Scott Walker, Trustee Justine Wright and Mr. Michael Hauptman. With all of their help we had a successful READ-IN. Also, thank you to all the parents and students for your support with the Book Fair. It was a great success!! Catholic Education Mass On Saturday, November 21st at the 5:15 p.m. Mass, the staff and students of the three Catholic Schools in Fort Saskatchewan will come together as one Christian body to pray for our school community. We thank God for our Catholic Education and pray for our students and staff. Tabernacle at OLA Exciting news about the faith formation of our students! In keeping with our EICS division theme: Where is Jesus? Right here, right now our school division has undertaken an exciting faith filled project. This year, the school division has obtained a tabernacle and monstrance from the Archdiocese which will travel to each school in our district. The presence of a tabernacle in each school echoes the importance of the Eucharist in each of our lives. It provides a wonderful teaching opportunity as well! After a week at St. John XXIII Catholic School, the tabernacle will be with us at Our Lady of the Angels from November 16 20. We are fortunate enough to be able to turn one of our classrooms into a chapel for the better part of the week! Each class will have a chance to learn more about our

Eucharistic faith in the early part of the week and then on Thursday, following mass, our students will have the opportunity to experience Eucharistic Adoration with their classes. On Friday during the school day, our chapel will be open to classes as a prayer space to visit with Jesus real presence in the tabernacle. The tabernacle will then travel to St. John Paul II high school. All parishioners and parents are invited to partake in Adoration on Friday, November 27 th from 3 9pm at St. John Paul II High School when their chapel will be opened to the public if they wish to participate in Eucharistic adoration. Thank you for holding each of our students and staff in prayer that our lives might be transformed by the real presence of Jesus with us Right Here, Right Now. Blessings, Mr. Scott Walker School Chaplain Counsellor s Message Hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween! In November, I will be starting a girl s group for junior high on Thursdays at lunch. The initial group will run for 10 weeks and will cover a variety of social issues. Attendance will be the decision of each girl, but I do ask that once they begin, they attend each session to build a community within the group. Thank you and have a safe November break.
