Message from the Centre Manager Welcome to our 2018 brochure. I hope you will find something within these pages to tempt you. You ll see that a very wide range of organisations are putting on events of all kinds.. If you know the centre, you ll be aware that in terms of food and comfort we are really closer to being a good hotel than a hostel. You ll also be aware that we seldom stand still in making improvements. In this last year, amongst other changes, we have fitted new carpeting, developed our rear lobby (in the process improving our security arrangements) and we ve developed further our beautiful gardens. If you would like to organise your own event here please contact me and I will help you plan this. Whatever your interests - conferences, cycling, spiritual events, holidays, walking, commercial, training, family get-togethers, school or college programmes - we will make every effort to meet your own particular needs. Meanwhile we believe our prices are very competitive, like for like. We ve a wide range of accommodation options so we ve not quoted prices in the brochure, but these are just a phone call away. Please do give me a ring to ask me about our range of prices or anything in the brochure. I look forward to welcoming you to the centre in 2018! 2

Opportunities to book your own event The Nightingale Centre is booked by a very wide range of organisations. But we do still have some weeks, weekends or mid-weeks free, especially, but not only, in winter months (when there is a discount!). And we sometimes have space alongside other groups using the centre at all times of the year. Perhaps the school for which you are a Governor is looking for a field study venue. Or perhaps a group of friends is looking for somewhere to stay in this lovely part of Derbyshire - a chance to visit attractive towns, villages and stately homes, or to take a walk or two in the local countryside. Perhaps you have a family occasion to celebrate, or your congregation wants to book a holiday together. Or your organisation needs to undertake a review, provide training or hold an AGM away from base. Or you want to organise a retreat, away from it all. All good reasons to Give Stella a ring (or email) and ask about Availability! Thank you to John Hewerdine and all others for our photographs 16
