What is International Mobility? The new Erasmus+ Programme and the mobility towards NON-EU universities allow students to spend a study period abroad or to carry out their thesis at a partner university and provides them with the possibility to: take courses access the host university facilities and services have exams and credits taken abroad fully recognized The mobility programme duration must be included between 3 and 12 months. (!) at the beginning of the mobility students should have completed at least their first-year course.
The Call for International Mobility 2017-2018 and the Application Form In order to apply candidates have to: 1. read through the Call for Students Mobility 2017/2018 online at http://www.polimi.it/en/students/experience-abroad/studymobility/erasmus/call/ 2. fill out the application form in the Online Services: - applicants of the Schools of Engineering can express up to 10 preferences - applicants of the School of AUIC or of DesignEngineering can express up to 3 preferences Deadline 27th January 2016-12.00 midday (!)
The Call for International Mobility 2017-2018: who can apply? The call targets students enrolled in: Bachelor of Science programmes Master of Science programmes Five-year, single cycle programme Individual courses PhD courses IMPORTANT! Students on the Laurea in Ingegneria e Tecniche per l Edilizia e l Architettura and on the Laurea Magistrale programmes in Construction Engineering-Architecture (single cycle programmes), Building Systems Engineering, Building and Architectural Engineering; Management of the Built Environment will be subject to the application, assessment and selection rules and procedures of the School of Engineering degree programmes.

The Call for International Mobility 2017-2018: who can apply? Important! Art. 1.2 Students who, at the time of application, are enrolled in the third year of a three-year Bachelor's degree or in individual courses and who enrol in a Master's degree in the second semester of the academic year 2016/17 may take part in a mobility programme both in the first and in the second semester of the academic year 2017/18. Students who, at the time of application, are enrolled in the third year of a three-year Bachelor's degree or in individual courses and who enrol in a Master's degree in the first semester of the academic year 2017/18 may only take part in an international mobility programme in the second semester of said academic year. Students who, at the time of application, are enrolled in the third year of a three-year Bachelor's degree and who enrol in a Master's degree in the second semester of the academic year 2017/18 cannot take part in an international mobility programme in the semester of enrolment. Students who, at the time of application, are enrolled in the third year of a three-year Bachelor's degree and who do not graduate in time to enrol in a Master's degree in the academic year 2017/18 may take part in an international mobility programme both in the first and in the second semester of said academic year for as long as they are enrolled in the three-year Bachelor's degree.

Selection Criteria: Schools of Engineering Candidates will be evaluated by the relevant Degree Council (CCS), which will first assess their eligibility, applying the criteria and limitations laid down by each Degree Programme, taking into account the choices made by the students and discarding any unsuitable destinations. Subsequent assignments of destinations will be made on the basis of a single ranking list, which for students with an Italian diploma will be drafted using a value known as grade, generated by a formula based on average marks, ECTS and time taken to complete academic courses. where Each grade is system-generated using the student's career data as at 31 December 2016.
Selection procedures: Schools of Engineering The destination universities will be assigned automatically for all applicants - first ranking. If a student is assigned a university featured in his/her application as one of the top 3 choices, the student will be required to either accept or reject the assigned university by the deadline set out in the selection schedule. Refusal or non acceptance will exclude the student from further stages of the selection process.
Selection procedures: Schools of Engineering Students who are allocated an institute stated in their application as the 4th to the 10th choice may accept the allocated institute. If they do not, they will automatically take part in the next phase of the selection process, envisaging a second and third ranking, based on the previously calculated grade and maintaining the order of preferences already expressed. This phase of the selection process will also involve eligible students who were not selected in the first phase, until all available places at the selected institutes are allocated.
Selection procedures: Schools of Engineering With the third and last ranking, students who are allocated an institute stated in their application as the 4th to the 10th choice must accept the allocated institute by the deadline set out in the selection schedule (march 20 th, 2017, midday). Refusal or non acceptance will exclude the student from taking part in a International Mobility Programme for a.y. 2017/18.

SCHOOL OF AUIC and SCHOOL OF DESIGN Selection criteria: suitable destinations and final assessment Throughtout each phase of the selection process, the promoting professors evaluate whether the chosen destinations are suitable. They may indeed discard destinations they think unsuitable for the student. Each candidate s final assessment consists of a maximum of 50 points, distributed as follows: at most 30 points are awarded depending on a parameter known as grade* at most 10 points are awarded for the student's portfolio at most 10 points are awarded for the student's profile, the letter of motivation (or statement of purpose), and his/her knowledge of languages).

SCHOOL OF AUIC and SCHOOL OF DESIGN Selection criteria: incentives and penalties Candidates who have never taken part in an international mobility programme lasting at least three months during their academic career will have 3 points added to their grade (mobility incentive). Students who have applied for a Double Degree programme for the academic year 2017/18 and who have rejected or not accepted the allocated institute, will be penalised by having 2 points subtracted from their grade.

FIRST RANKING The professors responsible for promoting the exchanges evaluate candidates first choices. Selected students must accept or refuse the destinations assigned. Refusal or non acceptance will exclude the students from further stages of the selection process.

Students selected for their first choice university must accept or refuse the allocated institute. Refusal or non-acceptance of the university selected as first choice within the deadline indicated in the Selection Schedule entails the exclusion from subsequent selection phases. Students selected for their second choice university may accept the allocated institute. If they do not, they will automatically take part in the next phase of the selection process, through which they may be placed on a better preference.

Selected students how to confirmed the assignment Student who wants to accept the assigned partner university must enter the online candidacy application and : 1 click on «confirm» 2 choose the period of mobility (first semester, second semester, year) Furthermore, if the assigned mobility is with an Erasmus+ partner: 3 indicate if the student wants to be contacted in order to be informed about special funds dedicated to disabled students.
Selected students who have confirmed their assignment next phases - NOMINATION: Studesks will communicate to partner institutions the names of students selected for a mobility during a.y. 2017/2018 - APPLICATION: selected students have to check the application deadlines of the host university, and prepare all necessary documentation. Studesk will take charge of sending the application to the partner university only if expressively required. - ACCEPTANCE of the exchange student by the host university.

Language courses for Erasmus+ mobility students Every year the Erasmus+ programme delivers online courses (OLS Online Linguistic Support) available in the following languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Dutch, Czech, Danish, Greek, Portuguese, Polish, Swedish Selected students will take compulsory tests for language proficiency before departure. Based on their results, they might be assigned a language course. At the end of mobility, students will need to take final tests to evaluate the language knowledge achieved.
