SENIOR SRC MOVIE NIGHT On Friday, 22nd September, the Senior SRC hosted a movie night in the Drama Room which was attended by 58 eager students as well as three very enthusiastic SRC helpers; Nevie Peart, Cody Jones and Sam Chandler. I would like to take this opportunity to extend thanks to Reece Gibbs and Ethan Wakka for setting up the Drama Room prior to the performance, and to Carlene and a small group of helpful students who popped and bagged the popcorn. Thank you also to Steve Royal for patiently teaching me how to set up the screen, projector, audio and computer in the Drama Room to enable things to run smoothly on the evening. WHEELS DAY On Friday 15th September, the Primary SRC held a Wheels Day. It was a great success and was lovely to see so many students ride to school and take part in the day. Primary students rode on the obstacle course that was designed by the SRC and some classes went for a ride along the bike track. Senior students took their wheels down to the Skate Park for a ride. Congratulations to those students who won prizes for Best Dressed Bike and also those who won Time Trials for their class. $93.00 was raised from the Wheels Day, and this will go towards the SRC s chosen charity of the RSPCA. M. Bruhn Finally, I would like to thank the students who attended the evening for their politeness and excellent behaviour. They are a credit to their parents and our school and they should be very proud of themselves. Kind regards from Mrs Blight REMINDER Students are required to wear a broad brimmed hat in Term 4 Hats are available from the Uniform Shop $10.00 each PRIMARY [R-6] ASSEMBLY 9.00am Drama Room Term 4 Thursday 9th November

In Week 8 of this term, the Year 9 HPE class went on an Outdoor Education Camp to Marschall's Hut, eight kilometres east of Riverton. Prior to the camp students learnt about first aid, camping techniques, bushwalking, meal planning and orienteering practices. Students walked close to 30 kilometres over the three days of the camp which included a night hike, and walking over the range with all of their gear on the first morning. Students were required to set up their tents, organise meals, cook on an open fire and demonstrate teamwork in many different tasks and situations. The first two days of weather were spectacular, although early on the final morning the weather changed dramatically. The students must be commended on their attitude on the final morning as packing up and walking out of the campsite was performed in the wet and cold. A huge thank you must also go to Carlene who was instrumental in helping organise the camp and ensuring it ran smoothly over the three days. Well done to all students on their behaviour, attitude and teamwork throughout the camp.

VISIT FROM SCOTCH COLLEGE STUDENTS Introducing the Scotch College Year 9 students to life in a small country school was very interactive, and new friendships were made while making a Milo drink in a Trangia. We worked in small groups and got to know the students well. We then played some small games in the Gym dominated by the Burra Community School students. The Scotch College students were fantastic and a lot of fun was had by all.
