A Graduate in English from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, she has post-graduation and MPhil in English from CES, SLL&CS, JNU. Her M Phil thesis is on "Theorizing Nonsense on the Rasa Framework: A Study/Analysis of Select Indian English Texts". She was appointed a SAP (Special Assistance Programme) fellow under UGC-DRS-Phase II for the tenure of June 2011-June 2012. Ms. Chanda has also been a part of the JNU Team under the UKIERI Tri-national Research Partnership Project between JNU, Bangor University and West Virginia University, for the year 2013-14.
