It is always a good time to learn: Grundtvig!!! A contribution through lifelong learning to make Europe the most competitive and dynamic knowledge-based economy in the world capable of sustainable economic growth with new and better jobs and greater social cohesion. (European Council, Lisbon, March 2000)

It is always a good time to learn: Grundtvig!!! Adult Education: a vital component of lifelong learning but Critical situation in in Europe: Limited participation and unbalanced among countries Benchmark in in 2010-12,5% - adult people participation in in lifelong learning in in 2006-9,6%

It is always a good time to learn: Grundtvig!!! Specific objectives: To help provide adults with pathways to improving their knowledge and competences To respond to the educational challenge of of an ageing population in in Europe

Who can participate in Grundtvig? Basically, anyone involved in adult education

What are the Grundtvig Actions? Multilateral Projects Partnerships Mobility Grundtvig Senior Volunteering Projects- GIVE Networks

Mobility:new horizons! In - service training for Adult Education staff Visits and Exchange (NEW!!!) Assistantship (NEW!!!) Workshops (NEW!!!)

Mobility: Visits and Exchange(NEW!!!) Main Objective: Improve practical teaching /coaching /counselling in in Adult Education Who can benefit: - Adult Education staff - Graduates with a qualification in in adult education, andragogy or or students towards such qualification Duration of of the visit: 1 day up up to to 12 12 weeks

ASSISTANTSHIP (NEW!!!) Objectives: enhance knowledge of of foreign languages in in adult learner Improve intercultural competences Who can apply: graduates with a qualification in in adult education, andragogy, former teachers, re-entering adult education in in a professional capacity after a period away Duration: 12-45 weeks

WORKSHOPS (NEW!!!) To bring together learners from several countries for an an innovative multinational learning experience 10 up up to to 20 20 learners Possible topics: arts, music, creativity, numeracy science, language learning, active citizenship, intercultural dialogue Duration: from 5 up up to to 10 10 days

Grundtvig Senior Volunteering Projects- GIVE (NEW!!!) Objectives: To enable senior citizens to to volunteer in in another European country for any kind of of non-profit activities as as a form of of informal learning Bilateral and Reciprocal cooperation: 2-6 volunteers Duration: 3-8 weeks

Grundtvig Partnerships Small scale co-operation activities on themes of mutual interest Process-oriented Involvement of learners

Who can participate in a learning partnership?. associations civic centres libraries museums social centres older adults centres vocational centres community cultural centres or associations

Grundtvig Partnerships Structure: Minimum 3 partners from 3 countries Duration: 2 Years

Main Activities Partner meetings and seminars Exchange of staff and adult lerners Exchange of experience and good practice Fieldwork, performances, exhibitions of work,project research Documentation on project activities Language preparation Evaluation and dissemination

Quality in partnerships The objectives of the Partnership are clear, realistic and address a relevant subject for Grundtvig Appropriate balance between the roles and tasks of the different participants in in the partnerships Effective strategy of communication and cooperation between the participating institutions.

Quality in partnerships The expected impact and benefits of the Partnership on participating institutions and individual participants are clear and well defined. to evaluate whether the aims and the expected impact of the Partnership will be achieved in the course of the project lifecycle evaluation strategy

Quality in partnerships The planned dissemination and exploitation activities are well defined : Valorization The " activities" and "Mobilities" tables cover the whole period of 2 years and are appropriate for achieving the objectives.
