Business arising: Fencing cost for OSHC quotes still coming Moved: A Vandenberg and M Buchanan Correspondence Accept all incoming and outgoing correspondence. Moved: K Johnson and K Edwards Executive Decisions Approval to use general funds to pay for the P&C portion of the invoice for the roof between the library and hall. Building fund to repay the general funds as soon as funds are received. Writing on the sport shirts changed to white as black writing was difficult to see on the blue shirt. White writing clear on all 3 coloured shirts. Treasurer s Report Net profit (loss) for August = ($20, 758.83) o Loss due to donation to the building fund, grant expenditure and readers purchase. o Friday night meals for August = $570. Treat Day August = $929.50. o 5 cent fundraiser August = $1487.70 Building Fund as at 31/08/17 = $4, 298.60

Prep enrolments for 2018: 66 o Survey to be organised to be completed by Connect Program parents in Term 4 for marketing and research purposes. o School capacity: 550 so able to accept all enrolments. Parent teacher interviews a success and positive feedback received. Positive feedback from Connect program this term. Bloke s Day BBQ went well and helped build relationships at the school. Air conditioners installed in E block, Staff Room and OSHC ahead of schedule. Landscaping at the front corner of the school completed and there is a definite improvement. Bollards installed between C and D block this is a no car zone for safety reasons. Accept principal s written report. Moved: M Ashford and K Johnson Chaplaincy Assisted a year six student to attend camp in Term 4. Kerry will also attend camp. Started Homework Club on Wednesday afternoons and currently 6 students attending. Thank you to all who have spoken at the Connect Parent Workshops. Spin Off Gym Bike Challenge on Saturday, 28 th October. o A staff team would be great. o Can sponsor an individual or team. Accept chaplain s written report. OSHC Thank you for the air conditioning. Fencing Quotes waiting on quotes from 2 more companies. Area is small so companies so far are happy to supply but not install. Installation is preferred. Fire Regulation A3 sized exit signs required at every exit in the hall. Need to be fastened with double sided tape. Fire blanket required in hall kitchen. Accept OSHC s written report. Moved: S McKenzie and A Vandenberg Swimming Club Saturday Sign On Day was a success. o Steady flow of people o 32 families signed on including 4 new families o Shirt with logo included as part of membership o Takings $1850 Increase relationship between coaching (All About Aquatics) and club to coax more memberships. Meeting regularly to meet requirements. Accept swim club s report. Moved: R Woulahan and M Buchanan Fundraising Father s Day Stall a huge success. Thanks to Rebecca for running. Sold Out of all stock. Query whether because some students buying for more than 1 male and some students bringing $40 to spend. Consider increased stock next year. Rotate class order so the same classes are not going last for Mother s Day and Father s Day stalls. Request for more gifts without DAD on them next year.
5 Cent Friday fundraiser finished and a huge success - Approx. $2800 raised. Class Prizes all donated by the community including the winning class pizza party thank you Tania and Sandra. Consider 10cent Tuesday next year. Tea towels (Term 4) flyers to go out Week 3 or 4 Approximately 200 to sell. Organise 21 more for next lot of Japanese students in October. Book covers/ naming labels to go into book packs Check into other suppliers as last year the postage was high. Xmas Raffle (Term 4) to be drawn at Carol s Night. Accept fundraising written report. Moved: S McKenzie and M Ashford General Business 1. Carol s Night a. Meal: P&C to organise ham or chicken rolls with water/popper drink. All meals to be pre-ordered and pre-paid. Community can bring food but no food will be sold on the night. Motion moved by M Ashford and S McKenzie. All in favour. Motion carried. b. Kerry to organise Salvation Army Appeal collection on the night. c. Consider front section for rugs and back section for chairs for best viewing for all. d. Consider candles only for those children participating in performance. 2. Secretary position open for nominations. No formal or informal nominations. a. Sandra McKenzie to continue filling in. 3. Ideas for funds raised by 5 cent fundraiser: a. Audio equipment microphones for choir performance in the hall. b. $500 to cover the hire cost of the audio equipment for Carol s Night. c. Remainder (?$2000) New oven for tuckshop; new choir shirts; gazebo/ portable sun shelters for sporting events; rainbow retreat refurbishment. Get cost of audio equipment first. New Members: 1
