Dear Candidate, Please refer to your application for admission to the Ph.D. Program in the Department of Chemistry, IIT Delhi. You are invited to attend the interview on December 7 th and 8 th, 2018, in the Committee Room, Department of Chemistry, IIT Delhi. Before coming please ensure that you meet the shortlisting criteria displayed on the department webpage: http://chemistry.iitd.ac.in. Please bring the following documents with you: 1. Original Degrees/Certificates, mark sheet and GATE Score CSIR/UGC National Test result (with documents clearly supporting your claim). 2. No Objection Certificate from the employer, if applicable. The certificate should contain that he/she has enough time to devote for research; facilities for research in the candidate s field are available at the place of work, he/she will be permitted to reside at the Institute for not less than 12 months. 3. Two passport size photographs. Please note that: 1. In view of restricted hostel accommodation, it will not be possible to provide such accommodation to those selected candidates whose parents/guardians reside in Delhi. 2. Candidates appearing for interviews will be paid to and fro II nd class Rail Fare by shortest route. This provision, however, will not apply to the sponsored and part-time candidates. 3. Candidates coming for test/interview for admission will be provided accommodation in Kumaon (for boys) and Kailash (for girls) hostels on sharing basis on payment of Rs. 400/- per day (lodging and boarding) as detailed below. The bedding is not provided and the candidates have to make their own arrangement for bedding. The payment shall be made by way of Demand Draft drawn in favour of Deans Discretionary Funds, IIT Delhi (hostel name) Hostel 4. Sponsored/Self financing candidates will be interviewed only on production of a documentary proof of financial support and No Objection Certificate (NOC) from employer. The list of selected candidates (Provisional) is likely to be known by the evening of the third working day after the date(s) of interview with the subject of approval from Dean (Academic). 6. The selected candidates may collect the admission letters from the office of the Chemistry Department after approval of the Dean. The waiting list (if any) will be operated as per institute rules. 7. Candidates, whose M.Tech./M.Sc. results are not yet declared, will be provisionally short-listed for the interview, provided they have secured the necessary aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA in the results declared so far for the qualifying degree. Candidates with CSIR/UGC-LS are not qualified for the Ph.D. entrance interview. Candidates with INSPIRE fellowship: Scholarship and admission will be provisional until the project is sanctioned by DST. Candidates who have graduated with B.Tech./M.Sc. or equivalent degree from an IIT and have a CGPA >= 8.5 (on 10 point scale) are also shortlisted irrespective of their score (or lack of it) in any qualifying National Examination". Admission on a Part-Time (PT) basis will be as per Institute norms. An additional short-listing criteria is CGPA in B.Sc. and CGPA in M.Sc.. PT candidates do not require GATE qualification. There will be no admission on a self-sponsored basis, and there will be no direct admission to the above programme. *In case the Deptt./Centre/School/IDP admits students from multiple GATE discipline and differentiates between them. 2
