The familiarity with the history of various philosophical ideas and opinions is an essential pre-requisite for further understanding of modern philosophical matters. A great amount of information gained from studying Logics, Epistemology, Philosophy of Science and Methodology are of great assessment for emerging and increasing critical thinking and talent of debating. The focus of the third section of the curriculum is on philosophical disciplines such as Ethics, Aesthetics, Philosophy of Politics and Law that explore matters or moral values and rational thinking, and facilitate successful management of daily practical and professional activities. Due to the gained knowledge, the graduate student with a Bachelor s degree in Philosophy will be prepared to perform numerous and various complex professional tasks as well as be qualified and trained to conduct lectures and research projects. Educational and Professional Goals: The main focus of the Bachelor s degree study program is oriented towards gaining knowledge and developing capabilities and skills essential for a work of a Bachelor of Philosophy at any professional level, as well as for continuing education and further specialization.

The main goals of the Bachelor s degree study program in Philosophy are the following: Achieving fundamental knowledge in History of Philosophy, Logics, Methodology, Epistemology, Ethics and Aesthetics Introducing basic philosophical terms, issues, methods, theory and traditions Developing competence to self-create and self-conduct the analysis of philosophical arguments and matters Emerging capabilities of relating philosophical contexts to individual and social problems Introducing current tendencies and trends in reference to modern philosophical issues Acquiring academic and professional skills of students applicable in studying, professional work and continuing education. The Bachelor study program s main goal is to make a student capable of recognizing and discussing most important social issues and phenomena, classifying the same and comparing them to related topics and matters. The study program enables student to gain theoretical and methodical knowledge in not only Sociology but in various social and topic related disciplines, as well as through research projects and final thesis analysis. Once obtained credentials and knowledge will qualify graduate students to work on research projects within professional institutions. Graduate students from a Master s study program in Sociology will become well trained for critical thinking activities, a range of research activities and conception of possible adjustments, transformations and solutions in specific social matters. The main focus of the study program is to enable a graduate student with the understanding of the latest social theories as well as the most recent scientific methodology concerning Epistemology and data collecting and analysis as well. The Doctoral study program also facilitates further interdisciplinary orientation of a candidate. The concept of the Doctoral study program in Sociology has been created and designed with the intention to, once the educational process has ended, advance the development student s abilities to individually, systematically and critically understand and explore various theoretical, historical and empirical issues concerning social studies. In order to achieve this goal, the student will be trained to diagnose and differentiate hypothetical from practical and existent social matters, to position theoretical or empirical study program to research those same matters, to become skilled at adequate research methods and techniques as well as at data basis research methods, to discover to creatively interpret the results of the study, and to come across the ways of applying them to concrete matters.

During the Doctoral study program, the graduate students will gain fundamental education in the area of Sociology as well as the essential understanding of major social and sociological issues. The students will also be introduced to sociological research methods and techniques, as well as to modern data research techniques. The special attention will be given on preparing students to, after the graduation, continue following modern sociological trends so they can access and maintain connections with international scientific society. Due to that, students will be capable of professional assisting in international research projects, and to present their works and achievements in books and magazines, and at conventions and public presentations. This will be one of the ways of enabling a graduate student to individually provide for the growth of Sociology as a science. The special concept within Sociology as a science is a concept of Sociology being self reflexive science that reflects society. Therefore, with forming the conscious about the sociological research having to completely respect the principles of ethics, the Doctoral study program in Sociology develops the awareness in a graduate student of becoming responsible for the growth of the society and humanity. A student applying for a Master s study program with a Bachelor s degree from a different study group will have to take the difference exam if necessary. Competently and proficiently partake and contribute in conducting research projects, creating projects and administrating cultural institutions, such as: museums, galleries, libraries, archives, media archives, cultural centers, etc. Participate and contribute in developmental projects based on analytic, predictive and evaluative level Educational and Professional Goals: The main goal of a Master s study program in Ethnology and Anthropology is to enable graduate students to integrate in continuously changeable work market conditions, specifically orienting the Master s study program in Ethnology and Anthropology towards interpretative and applied approaches of scientific research study works, whether these students are continuing education after accomplishing undergraduate studies in Ethnology and Anthropology or they are using the Master s study program in Ethnology and Anthropology to change their vocational discipline or build their competencies to become more diverse and remarkable. Course Selection / ECTS: The credit system at the Faculty of Philosophy conforms to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). One academic year corresponds to 60 ECTS credits. Each study course, either elective or compulsory, corresponds to 6 ECTS credits. The research study work in the second semester corresponds to 8 ECTS credits. It is the credit accumulation system and corresponding grades of credits are allocated to subjects that form a part of the study program.

The knowledge of at least one foreign language is mandatory as well. Rules for entrance examinations and admission are set in connection with the Faculty of Philosophy Statute. A student applying for a Doctoral study program with a Master s degree from a different study group will have to take the differential exam if necessary. In accordance with these goals, the Doctoral study program in Ethnology and Anthropology has been created and designed to simultaneously acquire modern and contemporary knowledge concerning theoretical and methodological disciplines within Ethnology and Anthropology and related socio-humanistic disciplines, and to continuously instruct and prepare graduate student for independent and team scientific research study work. The main goal of the Doctoral study program in Ethnology and Anthropology is to acquire graduate students with knowledge to actively apply obtained expertise from the academic habitat onto surrounding socio-cultural phenomena, including but not excluding occurrences such as: research design, conducting research, describing and analyzing research results, dissemination of the research

results, active update on the latest ethnological and anthropological trends and tendencies, translation of discipline specific knowledge into explicable administrative language, and language understood by general population and related disciplines. Educational and Professional Goals: A graduate student with a Doctoral degree in Ethnology and Anthropology will be competent for performing the following activities: Independently or with a team create scientific research projects Independently or with a team accomplish scientific research projects Independently describe, analyze, publish and promote research results Independently or with a team actively apply acquired knowledge Independently or with a team amend the research results and the dissemination language of the results to different sub-disciplines and general population Independently perform controlling or recurring research work concerning relevant research phenomena Participate in interdisciplinary projects Evaluate scientific research results of different authors and project instigators Evaluate scientific, artistic, administrative and other research projects that are maneuvered by socio-cultural analysis Consult clients and research associates within the wide spectrum of activities.
