Introduction This Handout gives information about the Admission Procedure and Admission Test for 4 year B. Tech. & 5 year MBA (Tech.) programmes for the academic year commencing from July/August, 2014. Admission for these programs is through NMAT (UG) 2014. 2. Eligibility criteria
Candidate must have passed 10 + 2 or equivalent exam including international IB Diploma (IB certificate awarded is not eligible) with English as compulsory subject & With science or science vocational & Minimum 50% marks in PCM for Mumbai campus & 45% marks in PCM for Shirpur campus. & Those awaiting their 10+2 exam result this year may also apply. Candidates who have passed the 10+2 exam by doing a parttime course or through distance learning/correspondence/externally/open school are not eligible to apply for the courses. Candidates should present single marksheet.candidate passed with compartment is not eligible. Note (for IB & Cambridge Candidate): Candidates called for admission counseling on the basis of NMAT (UG) merit list & who do not have final marksheet will be given Provisional Admission based on predicted score. Fees will be accepted from such candidate but their admission will be confirmed on submission of final marksheet if found eligible before the commencement of the program Candidates appearing for their final 10+2 or equivalent examination can also apply provided they should obtaining the required minimum cut off marks and also producing all the necessary documents, in original, within the given stipulated time. Those candidates who have passed, or, are appearing for 10+2 examination from a Board/University where Grade Point Average is given, such candidates must produce in writing from the Board/University concerned about the equivalent percentage for the GPA obtained. In case of CBSE, ICSE, Online marks mentioned of HSC, total aggregate percentage should be mentioned, not best of four, five or seven. Candidate above 25 years of age are restricted to apply for undergraduate programs. It is sole responsibility of the candidates to ascertain whether they possess necessary and requisite qualification for the admission to the courses at NMIMS. 5. Registration fee is as follows 1. Rs.1800/ for one school program 2. Rs.3000/for all programs of two different schools 3. Rs.00/ for all programs of three different schools 4. Rs.5000/ for all programs of four different schools Instruction for uploading photo Photos should be in JPEG format, and dimensions should be 200 pixels tall and 150 pixels wide. Size should not exceed 500 kb. Photo should have either white or lightly coloured background. Eyes should be open and clearly visible. Photo should have candidate face distinctly visible, straight and at the centre. Shoulder tops should be also clear on the photo. Photographs should not be more than 6 months old. Photos where candidate is seen to be wearing cap or goggles will be rejected. NMAT (UG) 2014 All eligible candidates who are registered successfully will be called for the online test. NMIMS decision in this regard will be final. Call Letter/ Admit Card
On the basis of information indicated in the Application Form, your call letter/ admit card for the Admission Test & the venue (School/College) at each centre will be communicated to the candidate as per important dates through the website. Please check important dates displayed on the website. You are required to download the call letter/admit card from our website www.nmims.edu No candidate, without call letter/admit card or without the photograph on the call letter/admit card will be permitted to appear for the test. No separate call letter will be mailed/posted. Candidate must carry any one requisite original ID proof along with photocopy of the same while appearing for NMAT (UG). List of ID proof 1. Driving License ( Learner license will not be accepted) Structure of the Test NMAT (UG) 2014 The NMAT (UG) 2014 for would be an objective type multiplechoice test. (There will be no descriptive type of questions). The NMAT (UG) 2014 will comprise of 3 major parts as follows: Section No. of Questions Time in Minutes Proficiency in English 50 Composite time of Language. 120 minutes for all Quantitative & Numerical Ability 50 test together Reasoning & General 50 Intelligence Total 150 For each Question for which a wrong answer is marked, 1/4th of the marks allotted to that question will be deducted as penalty. Type of questions and difficulty level of Tests will be on SAT Pattern As per our standard practice, the scores across various sessions will be equated to adjust for slight differences in difficulty level of different test items used across sessions. Candidates who wish to request for an accommodation must scan their Disability Certificate and email it together with the candidate's NMAT ID and name to NMATUG@nmims.edu, five or more days prior to test scheduled date. Each application will be reviewed on a casetocase basis and appropriate assistance will be made available at the test centre. Selection process Merit list will be prepared on the basis of the performance of the candidate in NMAT (UG) Candidates will be called for counseling session at Mumbai based on the merit list. In the counseling session candidates will be given admission to various disciplines as per their merit, choice and availability of discipline as per eligibility criteria. The decision of the institute will be final in this regard and no inquiries or correspondence in this regard will be entertained. Upgradation Process: On cancellation, the vacant seat is offered to next eligible candidate as per merit and preference. Candidate has to confirm the offer in writing within 24 hrs. If accepted, gets transferred to that specialization. If rejected, not eligible for further up gradation and remains in the same admitted specialization. Program Fees : The fees for Batch 2014. (Subject to change) Program Mumbai Shirpur B.Tech Rs. 2,000 / Rs.1,000 / and Rs.1,20,000/(for Textile only) MBA Tech Rs. 315,000 / Rs. 250,000 / Refund Rules: Candidate should submit a written request for withdrawal / cancellation of admission & submit it to Deputy Registrar (Admission) along with original fee receipt. The Schedule of refund of fees will be as follows: 1. Till the date of commencement of the Programme.(28 th July 2014) 2. After the commencement of Programme but before the close of the admission.(from 29 th July 2014 to 16 th August 2014) 3. Cancellation after the official Closure of admission.(17 th August onwards) Rs.1000/ will be deducted as administrative charges Rs.1000 + Proportionate fees i.e. one tenth of the fees for every completed month or part thereof, if the seat vacated by the candidate is filled. If the seat remains vacant /unfilled fees will NOT be refunded. Cancellation made after the official closing of admission fees will NOT be refunded.
6. Important instruction Candidates will be offered Programme/Campus based on the availability of seat, candidates merit rank, choice. Changing of branch and campus will be considered as per preference, merit rank and availability of seat after the admission granted to particular branch/campus. Change of campus & program is not allowed after commencement of the program If at any stage, it is found that a candidate does not satisfy the eligibility criteria or the information furnished by him/her in the application form is incorrect, his/her admission to the course, even if selected, will stand cancelled and fees will be forfeited. Such candidates appearing for the NMAT (UG) will do on their own risk. Canvassing in any form for admission will disqualify the candidate. Please see the important dates and preserve it as a guide.
