HOLY FAMILY REGIONAL SCHOOL JESUS CHRIST IS THE REASON FOR OUR SCHOOL Wednesday, September 12, 2018 Dear Parents, With the school year under way, the faculty and staff of Holy Family Regional School welcome you back to an exciting year! As a staff, we are blessed and honored to get to know you and your child. We are eager to help your child understand that they are beautiful children of God. This year s theme, Peace Begins with Me, Let Christ s Light Shine is a powerful statement which calls every child to promote peace through every word spoken, and every gesture made. In these challenging times, our school children are provided the opportunity to learn about their Catholic faith and traditions, increase their relationship with God, and recognize how they can make a peaceful difference in the lives of others through their faithfilled interactions and compassion for one another. In a special way this year, we plan to partner with our parents to increase awareness of faith formation opportunities to grow in our own spiritual relationship with Christ. The Campus Ministry department will share spiritual enrichment opportunities within our school and home parishes. We are hoping that our families continue to grow in Christ, and recognize the importance of the domestic church. If you have not had a chance yet, please review the family goals and contract that was distributed at the Meet the Teacher Night. Be sure to share these goals with your children and commit your family to prayer and celebration of the sacraments this year! This past school year the strategic planning committee worked with the Archdiocese of Detroit and other catholic schools to update and review our strategic plan. Based on a school SWOT analysis, survey results, and parish profile reports, the committee was able to confirm current strategic goals as well as identify additional goals to include in our strategic plan. On Wednesday, September 19, you are invited to attend an informational evening where parents will learn about the committee work from the past year, as well as information about our strategic plan. Please join us in the cafeteria at 7:00pm at our South Campus. On, Friday, September 14 we will gather at our South Campus for an opening prayer service and campus wide activity. Students will spend time with their buddy class and then move to the field for the prayer service which begins at 10:00am. Parents and guests are invited to join us for this beautiful celebration. Please look for a special emailed letter that will contain more details about the morning. In the evening we invite everyone back to our Annual Fall Festival at the South Campus. The Fall Festival begins at 5:00pm and offers the opportunity for our families to enjoy games, inflatables, dancing, food and fellowship. Our parent groups will be available in the evening to share information about volunteer opportunities. It is a great way to kick off the school year! May the love of Jesus Christ be with you and your family as we begin the adventure of a new school year. Know that you are always in my prayers! Sincerely in Christ, Mr. Jon Myers
