Games Club TRANSLATE From our Principal Exciting Changes for 2016 I would like to take this opportunity to announce some exciting changes to our school structure for 2016. Firstly we will be welcoming back Mrs Fiona Calamante, who many of you will remember took some well deserved Family Leave but as she couldn't stay away from our wonderful students any longer, she has decided to join us in a part time capacity. Fiona will be coordinating our new and exciting Visual Arts Program that will be run from the start of next year. Replacing Science, which will still be run as part of the classroom curriculum, Fiona will take each class for one hour each week and she will also have the added responsibility of updating our Art displays around the school. I have no doubt you will see some exciting, creative and beautiful displays of student work. Secondly we will be introducing a number of Intervention Programs to assist students in particular areas. Using teacher data from this years reports, small group or individual sessions will be run from the start of next year to assist students in the key areas of Reading, Writing and Numeracy. Not only will this help with basic skills and improved confidence but it will also assist students to participate in classroom activities with a greater level of enthusiasm. Teachers for 2016 Here is a list of our wonderful teachers and their roles for 2016. Foundation (1 class) : Angela Shrimpton and Kelly Roberts will again share this class. Level 1 / 2 (2 classes) : Rachael Coulson and Cath Loosley will share and Dante Di Iorio will take the other class. Level 3 / 4 (1 class) : Melissa Johnson Level 4 / 5 (1 class) : Simon Mangs Level 6 (1 class) : Katherine Arico Physical Education : Deb Richards Mandarin : Sarah Chin Visual Arts : Fiona Calamante Welfare : Jenny May Support and Intervention Programs : Jenny May and Cath Loosley Student Placement for 2016 School staff spend many, many hours working to place students into the best combinations for learning in the following year. Whilst written parent requests will be considered, please understand that much deliberation goes into every placement. If you would like a request to be considered can you please place it in writing and address it to me by Friday November 20. Uniform As per previous newsletters, all students are expected to be in school uniform unless there is a written reason
