Happy New Year! 2018 is going to be an amazing and exciting year. The shift that Mr. Trump promised, when elected President, has begun. Our friends that have only read, watched or listened to mainstream media, won t have heard of any of the remarkable accomplishments that have occurred. Don t you wish that they would instead take a brief glance at the White House website where they will be given a much better and brighter accounting? For example - so far, this year 1.7 million jobs have been created. 159,000 of them have been in the manufacturing industry and 57,000 in mining (Hello Nevada Mining) and logging industries. The unemployment rate has fallen to 4.1 percent, the lowest in nearly 17 years. And it just grows and grows more positive from there. The world in noticing too, we have someone in office that is drawing the line in the sand and saying Oh, yeah I double dog dare you to step over that line. Mr. Trump speaks his mind for the good of the country, restoring its reputation of strength and honor. It is going to be another awesome year, Have you given a thought yet to what you would like to do this year to help keep this momentum going this year? It might be making phone calls for your favorite candidate, stuffing envelopes or knocking on doors. Did you know that every hour you spend doing something as simple even as going to a meeting is showing that you are supporting the Republican Party, conservative values and issues? If you are interested in getting involved more with ARW, we have several positions available on the Board. You can participate in our community service programs by chairing the Americanism or the Caring for our Armed Forces committee. We are also looking for that special person that would like to spearhead campaign activities for ARW. Do you like to write and have computer and knowledge of the Internet the communications chair might be a perfect fit. Please let me know if these activities interest you or if you would like to know more about any of the other wonderful things that we do. If you are interested in learning more about the Nevada Federation of Republican Women, the Southern Nevada Leadership Retreat will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Spanish Trails Country Club. Please take a look at the flyer inside the newsletter. It is going to a busy year! Looking forward to spending it with you! Your ARW President, Bernadette Anthony 2

In Loving Memory Active Republican Women of Las Vegas sadly announce the passing of one of our sisters Patty Pannise Our sister Patty was laid to rest on Thursday December 14, 2017 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Las Vegas. After a long battle with illness, she is now at peace. Patty was known as a "volunteer extraordinaire" who had a deep passion for our Veteran causes. She helped many organizations such as The Veterans Transition Resource Center, Concerned Veteran's for America (CVA), and Women Veterans of Nevada. Patty was our Veterans Committee Chairwoman here at ARW. She inspired us to put the little buckets on our dinner tables and fill them with dollars and change. The money goes to The Veterans Transition Resource Center here in Las Vegas. Patty spent countless hours volunteering making a difference for our Veterans. She was a very strong Republican who helped candidates in every way possible. Patty was extremely compassionate, generous, kind, and loving. She was a major inspiration to Women here in our valley. She will be missed dearly. Love is reflected in Love" If you know of a club member or immediate family member who is ill or is going through a difficult time, please let us know! We would like to send a card of strength and encouragement. Please contact Lee Price at702-242-2089 ~~~~~~~~~~~~ARW~~~~~~~~~~~~ Prayer Circle Under the guidance of ARW Chaplain Kristene Fisher, the ARW Prayer Circle has started. This is a nondenominational email Prayer Circle comprised of ARW members. When advised we can blind copy members, or if you hear of someone in need of prayer for whatever reason, an email is sent to those ARW members that have signed up to be a part of the Prayer Circle. The Prayer Circle email is sent as "the Prayer Circle" and it will not have any other Club information included. If you would like to be included in the emails or know of a member or yourself that would like to be included on the prayer list, please let Kristene Fisher know at kristene.fisher@yahoo.com 7
