Page 1 of 5 Associate in Arts Degree in Elementary Teacher Education f Transfer Upon completion of the Associate in Arts in Elementary Teacher Education f Transfer, students will have a strong foundation in introducty content area subject matter requirements f teaching at the elementary school level. Students will also have the opptunity to participate in supervised fieldwk in K-12 settings. Students who complete the Associate in Arts Degree in Elementary Teacher Education f Transfer receive priity admission to the Califnia State University system, though admission to a specific campus is not guaranteed. While an associate degree may suppt attempts to gain entry-level employment promotion, a baccalaureate higher degree is recommended f those considering professional careers, which can be achieved through transfer. The following is required f this AA-T degree: 1. Completion of 60 semester units 90 quarter units that are eligible f transfer to the Califnia State University, including both of the following: (A) The Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) the Califnia State University General Education Breadth Requirements. (B) A minimum of 55 semester units 82.5 quarter units in a maj area of emphasis, as determined by the community college district. 2. Obtainment of a minimum grade point average of 2.0. Students must earn a C better in all courses required f the maj area of emphasis. A P (Pass) grade is not an acceptable grade f courses in the maj. Students will use industryrecognized software to create, edit and perfm music. The OSA also provides students with the music business knowledge necessary to promote their wk.
