The position is a tenure-track, academic year appointment with potential for summer employment. Duties and Responsibilities 50% teaching, 40% research, 10% service and outreach. Teach course work in the Hospitality Management undergraduate and Dietetic Management graduate degree programs such as Lodging Operations and Facilities Management, Event Planning, Rural Hospitality, Lodging and Facilities Conceptual Design. Advise undergraduate and graduate students studying Hospitality Management. Develop an extramurally funded research program in area of expertise. Conduct outreach with Hospitality stakeholders in Montana. Required Qualifications Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills 1. Terminal degree in Hospitality Management, Lodging/Hotel Management, Tourism or related field upon hire date. 2. Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level in Hospitality or Lodging Management. 3. Evidence of successfully seeking competitive funding for an independent research program, appropriate for the rank of assistant professor. 4. Proven ability to collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary team in teaching, research, and outreach activities with diverse faculty from a variety of academic and/or cultural backgrounds. 5. Work experience or interest in working with lodging or tourism facilities entrepreneurs, and hospitality industry stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills 1. Practical experience with lodging or facilities management. 2. Interest in innovative teaching methods. 3. Interest in providing leadership for a new academic program in Hospitality Management. 4. The Food, Nutrition and Hospitality program is an undergraduate program that prepares students for dietetic internships providing training in medical nutrition therapy, community nutrition and food service management. The Sustainable Food Systems graduate program prepares leaders in areas related to sustainable food production, food preparation and processing, distribution, nutrition, community food security, consumer issues and waste recycling. The department is located in the College of Education, Health and Human Development (EHHD). The departmental mission is to enrich human well-being through teaching, research, and outreach.
