PROGRAMME OVERVIEW This programme has been specifically developed for students who have successfully completed one of the two approved VTC Higher Diploma programmes and who wish to develop their career further by completing a BSc (Hons) in Architectural Studies. This cutting edge degree programme in Architecture provides you with a comprehensive grounding in design, theory, history and building technology, whilst embracing conservation, sustainability and environmental issues. It provides a route to pursuit professional membership in Architecture. The degree also provides progression to the Master of Architecture (M Arch) of University of Central Lancashire (or other Universities depending on their submitted portfolio and academic performance). This degree comprises eight Level 5 and 6 (UK system) modules delivered locally in Hong Kong with a series of lectures, studios, seminars and tutorials with input provided by both VTC and University of Central Lancashire staff in all eight modules. The lecture material is identical to that provided in the UK but contextualised with a Hong Kong focus, drawing on the best practice from both locations. PROGRAMME STRUCTURE The programme is delivered in part-time mode and is normally delivered in 2 years of study. Engineering ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ENGLISH PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS For applicants where English is not their first language or where their diploma/degree has not been studied in the English language, a score of at least 6.0 on IELTS or TOFEL 550 (or equivalent) is required. (Graduates of VTC Higher Diploma are exempted from the requirement.) ASSESSMENT Assessment is based on coursework, class test, project work and the completion of design thesis and portfolio.
