Some of the things we did are: the Stations of the Cross, Mass, lunch and we had fun seeing all the amazing things such as the amazing statues. It was an amazing and fantastic day. After we had our tour we got to go to Mass in an amazing, beautifully painted chapel. During Mass the priest came down and talked to us. Right after Mass we had lunch on tables outside. After that, we went back to school. By Kate Link From the Fifth Reporters Mrs. Smith teaches the seventh grade class. She likes her students best of all things. It brings joy to Mrs. Smith to see the students understanding new things in math and science. She has been teaching for thirty-two years. Mrs. Smith taught one year in North Dakota. She decided to teach because she loves to work with kids. Her favorite subjects to teach are math and science. Mrs. Smith s favorite trip she had ever been on was going on a field trip to Washington, D.C. She has been there plenty of times. Her favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because it makes you realize how many blessings you have: including family, food, and friends. Mrs. Smith was born in Michigan, then, moved to Germany. From Germany, she moved to California. Then, Mrs. Smith moved to North Dakota. After all that, she moved here. She went to college at the University of North Dakota, Oregon State University, and George Fox University. Mrs. Smith has one cat named Lily and a Plecostomus fish for a class pet. She has had many other pets before. She likes to garden for fun. She travels to see her family and takes pictures as a hobby. By Grace and Landon, 5 th graders Congratulations! Congratulations to Sophia, Samuel, Gab and Anna Maria for competing in the Valley Catholic Speech tournament. A special congratulations to Anna Maria for placing 3rd in the 8th grade Humorous division.

Principal s Tea Insights from Principal s Tea where we drink no tea, but have a chance to share ideas about what makes St. Francis a great school and how we could make it even better. Kindergarten guests: Zachary and Natalie S. First grade guests: Brandon and Maddie Second grade guests: Katie I. and Amon I like growing time. You get to do puzzles, magnets, Legos and letters. I like using our Ipads. Miss H. can change our screen without even touching it. She just swipes her finger. Our teacher too! I like going out to recess but the one thing I think is missing is a heat lamp. I get really cold. Third grade guests: Kate and Jaya Fourth grade guests: Kay and Evan Fifth grade guest: Gavon I think we should call it Principal s Lunch since we don t drink tea, but we eat lunch. The Grotto was wonderful. There was a lot of nature and prayer. It was peaceful. We did the Stations of the Cross and had Mass with our prayer buddies. I like doing geometry. Determining the surface and volume of shapes. continued www.stfrancissherwoodschool.org Page 3
