No.06/2010 Applications are invited from suitable candidates for the following posts tenable in the National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology, (NIIST) Thiruvananthapuram, a Premier research Institute under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR). The Institute has been engaged in R&D programmes in board areas of Chemical and Biosciences, Advanced Materials, Computational Modelling & Simulation and Process Science and Engineering and other areas. NIIST is looking for bright and highly dedicated candidates for the following positions:- 1. POST NAME : Medical Officer, Gr.III(4) 1 (UR) in the Pay scale of PB-3, Rs.15600-39100 with Grade Pay Rs.5400+25% Non-practicing allowance on Basic Pay. Qualifications of Medical Officer, Gr.III(4) : Work Experience: Should have minimum of M.B.B.S Degree from a recognized University. 6 years experience after completing Housemanship/internship out of which a minimum of 2-3 years experience in an established Hospital/Health Centre/Dispensary, attached to Institutions/Public Sector Units. The candidate should be possessing of permanent Registration number. Job requirement:- Examining patients, prescribing medicines, attending to emergencies during the office hours, beyond the office hours and on holidays in an outpatient setup. Desirable: Knowledge of local language(malayalam) is preferred Age limit not exceeding : 35 years as on 14.09.2010 2. POST NAME: Staff Nurse(Female), Gr.II(1)-1 (UR) in the Pay scale of PB-1, Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay Rs.1900. Qualification of Staff Nurse, Gr.II(1): SSC/10 th standard with science subjects with 55% marks plus Diploma in Nursing and midwifery of three years full time duration OR Bachelors degree of 3 year duration in nursing from recognized university/institution. The candidate must be registered with the respective Nursing Councils. Desirable Qualifications: Work experience as Staff Nurse in a registered Hospital/Nursing Home, Knowledge of handling Medical Equipments and Computer Awareness. Job requirement: The incumbent of the position is required to render assistance to the Medical Officer of the Health Centre of the institute in rendering medical/nursing care and attention to the staff of the institute and their families including Council Pensioners, besides attending to functions
such as administering injections, intravenous fluids, dressing, testing, ECG etc. as per the directions of the Medical Officer. Age limit not exceeding : 28 years as on 14.09.2010. AGE LIMIT AND RELAXATIONS: 1. The date for determining the upper age limit, qualifications and or experience shall be the closing date prescribed for receipt of application form ie 14.09.2010 2.
