PRINCIPAL All human persons are made in the mage of God (Genesis 1:27). Humanity is the clearest reflection of God amongst us and when we gather as the Christian community we are the body of Christ. When we gather as a community we there-fore bring Christ to each other. A community needs a soul if it is to become a true home for human beings. You the people must give it soul. John Paul 11. Thank you to everyone that made last Saturday such a memorable event. Thank you to the parents that paraded their beautiful cultural dress, to those that prepared dancers, organised raffles, cooked and sold food and packed up and to those that came to celebrate and make the day special. Thank you to the children that performed, paraded beautiful cultural dress and gave the day joy with their laughter and enthusiasm. Thank you to the dedicated staff who can always be relied on to serve the families of St Gerard's with energy, great care and love. In particular thanks to Mrs Dorothy Stack for coordinating the blessing and making it so special by involving the children and families. Finally thanks to the parents and children that met and came up with the great ideas for the wonderful day. The idea of national costumes and a fashion parade came from one of the Mum s. God our Maker, We give praise and thanks for the gift of 60 Years of school and Parish community. Thank you for the community of St Gerard s in which we worship, serve and live. Thank you for the community that is your Body, the Church. Fill us with you re your spirit today and tomorrow, so that as one, we reflect your light and love to each other and to the world. In Christ we pray, Amen.

We are learning about how our bodies feel if we are worried. We are also solving problems like, James is in Grade 3. He finds learning a little bit hard and he thinks no one really likes him at school. If he was using negative self talk what thoughts might he be thinking? If he was using positive self talk what thoughts might he be thinking? There will be another 2 Walk or Ride to Schools days before the end of the term. They must wear a helmet at all times. WEDNESDAY, 29 NOVEMBER & WEDNESDAY, 13 DECEMBER Students are encouraged to walk or ride to school from home or from a nearby drop off point (like Bunnings). If your child doesn t normally walk to school, you could do this together. Students who ride are given a sticker and the class who has the most students riding or walking get to keep our Ride to School trophy in their classroom for that month. Students can ride bikes, skateboards or scooters. Upon arrival at school, students must hop off their bike, scooter or skateboard and lock up their bike or scooter in our bike parking area behind 1/2 BT classroom. OSHC Out of School Hours Care will NOT be operating on Monday, 6 November. If you require care for your child, St Mary s Dandenong OSHC is open. If you require form information please contact Marina on 0402192685. Have a lovely long weekend.

The St Gerard s Art Show held in conjunction with the 60th Anniversary Feast Celebration on Saturday was a wonderful success. Our students and teachers have worked tirelessly over the past weeks and it certainly paid off with a fantastic display of wonderful art.

The Grade 5/6 Students Bizarre Bazaar on Tuesday, 31 October as part of their inquiry unit this term. The children put a lot of effort into making the day a great success. The $747.15 raised will be donated to the Missions as this is Mission month. A big thank you to all the parents for their support.
