1 April 10, 2017 REGULAR BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING Members Present: Mr. Jonathan Boston; Mrs. Beth Callahan; Mrs. Diane Angell; Ms. Elaine Cowin; Mr. Douglas West Others Present: Absent: Mr. John Goralski, Superintendent of Schools Mrs. Cynthia Turcotte, Business Administrator; Mrs. Amy Langworthy, Elementary Principal; Mr. Doug Duell, Jr/Sr High School Principal; Mrs. Stephanie Gibson, Director of Pupil Personnel Services; Mrs. Elizabeth Viele, Deputy District Clerk; Ms. Kately Allen, Student Representative; and an audience of (7) seven people. Mr. Robert Frasier; Mr. Ash Anand The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by the President of the Board, Mr. West, with the Pledge of Allegiance. Serena Larose, 9 th grade, was nominated by her teacher Mr. Mularz who said Serena understands what excellence is and puts in the time and effort to ensure that she achieves it. Opening Student Recognition Mr. Goralski presented Serena with a certificate and a gift card. The audience gave a round of applause. Capital Project Vote rescheduled to May 16 th, 2017. A motion was made by Mrs. Callahan, seconded by Mr. Boston to approve the minutes of the March 13, 2017 Regular Meeting. A motion was made by Mrs. Angell, seconded by Mr. Boston to approve the minutes of the March 20, 2017 Budget Workshop Meeting. 4 YEAS, 1 Abstain (Mrs. Callahan). Motion carried. Old Business Board of Education Petitions will be accepted until 4/17/17 at 5:00 pm. Mrs. Turcotte reviewed line item changes to the 2017-18 Budget with no change to the total budget.

Mr. Goralski discussed the potential merger of Ice Hockey with Glens Falls City School and Hudson Falls Central School. Approximate cost to the District of $3,000 for referees and incidentals. Ice Time is provided by the City of Glens Falls. Justin Gray Joshua Komon Technology Intern New Business Administrative Reports/Curriculum Update Superintendent s Report Mr. Goralski reviewed the following: Reviewed the SSBA Phase II Project. $11 million Capital Project rescheduled for 5/16/17 with regular Budget Vote. NYSSBA Annual Convention 10/12-10/14 will be held in Lake Placid this year. Administrative contract has reached a tentative agreement. Gym Project painting to be done over the Spring break. The Divider door will be resurfaced later in the year.

5 April 10, 2017 BOCES Annual Meeting was held on 4/5/17. Two Warrensburg students were chosen by their peers and honored at the meeting and annual dinner. SED law regarding transportation and mileage requirements impacts 8-10 students. Business Administrator s Report None Jr. /Sr. High School Principal s Report Congratulations to Kately Allen and Heather Wood for the Post Star Award. ELA testing is complete and sent off. Computer based testing is scheduled for the 7 th graders in the Spring. Nice to see students using High-Five Equipment. 4/24 begins the YMCA Program in Brant Lake. 4/27 is Incoming 7 th grade parent night. Elementary Principal s Report ELA complete with a few less opt outs than last year. Annual open house will be Wednesday 4/12 between 6-8 pm. Field goods, farm to school program is up and running. Annual Hoe Down will be held Thursday 4/13. Had a meeting regarding the after school program. Director of Pupil Personnel Services Report Annual reviews are halfway completed. Student Representative The play was a bit hit. Waiting to hear from Proctor s if the production won in any of the 10 categories, and if so they would get to do something special 5/1. Board of Education Committee Audit/Budget Mr. Anand, Chairperson - None Negotiations Mr. West, Chairperson None Facilities Mrs. Callahan, Chairperson None Personnel Mrs. Angell, Chairperson None Policy/Procedures & Practices Ms. Cowin, Chairperson Waiting on two more installments.

6 April 10, 2017 Bubble soccer was well received by the audience. Next BOE meeting is the Workshop meeting on 4/24/17 at 6 pm. Mrs. Apple asked if there was a separate line vote for the Capital Project. Upon a motion made by Mrs. Callahan, seconded by Mrs. Angell the board adjourned at 7:55 pm.
