General Information SNU Business School SNU Business School at Seoul National University distinguishes itself from other business school through its students, education, and alumni. SNU Business School only accepts 0.5% of the applicants who are the brightest and most motivated students. It is the passion and drive behind student that push SNU business school to be the best in Korea. SNU Business School was the first business school in Korea to be certified by the Associate to Advanced Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Moreover, our faculty is comprised of many prominent lecturers and businessman around the world. In addition to, there are many distinct alumni all around the world. Programs SNU Business School encourages critical thinking training, helping students strengthen their problem solving ability and learn to find creative solutions. SNU Business School covers diverse corporate cases in both required and elective courses, promote discussion- and presentation- oriented classes, and strive to foster student s critical thinking and audacity through multi-faceted assignments and tests. SNU Business School offers wide range of full-time degree and not-degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Programs offer concentration on Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Operations Management, Personal Administration and Organizational Behavior, Management Information Systems, and International Business. Undergraduate students reside on or near campus, and complete a four-year bachelor program comprising of general education and business studies. Bachelor s Degree Requirements 4 years curricular program 130 credits(minimum) Cumulative GPA of 3.0(minimum) Undergraduate Thesis Early Graduation - 6~7 semesters - Cumulative GPA of 3.4(minimum) - GPA of 3.0 of above for each semester Master s Degree Requirements 4 semester courses 39 credits(minimum) Cumulative GPA of 3.0(minimum) Degree Qualifying Exam(Business, English) Master s Thesis (thesis evaluation, oral exam) CBA Exchange Student Program Exchange program is for students in SNU s partner universities who wish to study at SNU for one or two semesters and transfer credits to their home institution. The first official student exchange program launched in 1995 with the University of Tokyo and the number of institutions where they agreed for student exchange program has increased to 216 institutions all over the world. To be an exchange student, candidates must be officially nominated by their home institution and pay the tuition fee at their home institution. Fees for taking Korean language course offered by SNU LEI will be partially supported.

Academic transcript for visiting students will not be sent to the home institution from the OIA and visiting students must request for an issuance of academic transcript at the Registrar s Office. Courses 1. Finding courses at; http://sugang.snu.ac.kr 1) Majority of courses are taught in Korean but each college or department offers some amount of courses in English. List of courses for a new semester is available at the beginning of January or July each year. - There s two ways to find the courses lectured in English. If there s e on the Remark,(right side of course listing) the course will be lectured in English. You can also use English lecture button on Advanced search to find the courses in English. By using Advanced search, you can find list of courses held on last semester before the registration season starts. This function will be useful to find information such as syllabus and previous course lists for your reference. 2) Undergraduate students can take courses up to 18 credits/ Master level students can take up to 12 credits

Restrictions - Int l Exchange/Visiting students of CBA CANNOT take any MBA level courses. -Priority for course registration for some of the Business Administration courses (See attachment, "College of Business Administration Requisite Subject for Major") will be given to the regular degree-seeking students. Exchange students may take the course only when there are extra spots available. As the courses are mandatory courses for degreeseeking students, generally, all seats are quickly filled up. Please advise your nominee(s) of this issue and make sure that they plan ahead, and have Plan B. -The College of Medicine & College of Law is restricted to students who are currently studying medicine at their home university. - The College of Dentistry is ONLY available to master s level students currently enrolled in a master program at School of Dentistry or equivalent at their home university. The student exchange program is NOT available at the undergraduate level for the College of Dentistry. - Applicants, who apply for the Korean History major, must provide a proof of Korean language ability. A satisfactory level of Korean language ability should be either (1) Level 5 or above of official Korean Language Proficient Test (KLPT) or (2) Level 5 or above of the Korean Test conducted at the SNU Language Institute. Criteria & Process 1. Eligibility 1) Qualification - Must be enrolled at least 2 semesters at home institute - Have a GPA 3.0 or above / 4.0 * * To apply for the College of Business Administration, GPA more than 83 out of total score 100 is required. If the score, more than 83, is not written in the official transcript clearly, applicants home universities should submit a letter to us to prove the equivalent. - Language proficiency of either English or Korean is highly recommended, but not compulsory English TOEFL IBT 88 or above IELTS 6.0 or above Korean KLPT Level 5 or above TOPIC Level 5 or above 2) Restriction - As specified in the selection criteria of the Exchange Student Program at the College of Business Administration, we follow the rule that, -The College of Business Administration is restricted to students who are currently studying business at their home university.

During Nov. 3. Procedure Note: We used to require both online application and postal submission of the required documents. However, to facilitate the process and ease the burden for applicants, we will receive online application ONLY from exchange students. Also, we reduced the number of recommendation letter required from 2 to 1. The coordinator can open the letter, scan it, and send it to the designated SNU coordinator via e-mail. * Please be aware that we will be unable to continue processing your application if you do not submit ALL the required application documents.

4. Screening Procedure We receive applications and reviews that all requirements have been met. The application packet is then forwarded to the screening committee of each college for assessment. Some of the applicants may unfortunately fail to have an admission if the committee decide he/she doesn t satisfy requirements. When the acceptance is confirmed, the OIA will notify the result through students home institution. The OIA is not responsible for the selection process and its results since the decision is made by screening committee. 5. Acceptance Package The acceptance package will include Certificate of Admission (not for Korean national), Letter of Acceptance, and other necessary information. 6. Visa A student visa (D-2) is required for every non-korean student who will be studying in Korea. In most cases, exchange students can acquire their D-2 visa easily when they present their Certificates of Admission issued by SNU to the relevant passport officials in their home country. For more detailed information on the visa application process, please contact your nearest Korean Embassy or consulate. Student Life 1. Housing - On-Campus Housing: The Gwanak campus is the main campus of SNU. Most colleges and schools are located at the Gwanak campus except for the College of Medicine, which is located at the Yeongun campus in the northern part of Seoul. Exchange students have a right to apply for the Gwanak Residence Halls (Gwanak campus dormitory), but room assignment is not guaranteed to every student. SNU does not provide an assistance to find off-campus housing, and it is students own responsibility to find accommodation outside campus.

Insurance & Health Care Travel Insurance It is mandatory for every exchange/visiting student to obtain travel medical insurance. Students should comply with the following guidelines: - Students are required to have an insurance that is valid both in home country and in Korea. - The insurance policy should cover sickness, accident and death during your study in SNU - Students can register for courses after submitting the copy of the insurance policy which states the above conditions - Insurance policies in languages other than Korean or English should be notarized before submission - In case the insurance expires before the exchange period ends, students are required to resubmit the insurance policy copy or the notarized document after renewal or reapplication of the insurance policy - It is the responsibility of students that they make sure they are insured with an appropriate insurance and no assistance can be provided by SNU. 4. Student Activities - SNU Buddy Program SNU Buddy was established to help international exchange and visiting students and to build a real friendship by multilateral ways of communication. Students will do all the fun, studentoriented activities together with SNU domestic students during their whole stay. Sign-up notice will be sent before the semester starts.
