Theme: Diabetic Foot Update Diabetic Foot Conference: November 30 - December 2, 2018 Program - 20 CME Hours Template CME Objective: TPMA is approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education as a provider of continuing education in podiatric medicine. TPMA has approved this activity for a maximum of 20 continuing education contact hours. The 2018 TPMA Diabetic Foot Update is intended for licensed DPMs to develop and improve the knowledge and competency to better serve the citizens of Texas and the surrounding states. Throughout the program, the mentioned target participants will learn about various foot and ankle pathologies as it relates to Diabetes and their evidence-based treatment options via lectures and hands-on workshops. Safety, efficacy, cost effectiveness and quality improvements of multiple aspects of clinical management will be discussed. Program, schedule, and CE contact hours are subject to change without notice. Speakers and sponsors are required to disclose significant financial relationships and provide disclosure and written agreements to TPMA with any and all commercial products discussed during the presentation per CPME 720 guidelines. Program Objective: The multi-disciplinary attendees will learn current concepts on how to recognize, evaluate and manage patients with diabetes related foot and ankle conditions, complicated by peripheral neuropathy, vascular diseases, foot ulcers and infection. Podiatric medical and surgical treatments as well as an overall review of diabetes will enhance the attendees knowledge to improve care in their practice. The attendees will learn in detail how to apply advances in the management of the diabetic foot and to modify the podiatric medical and surgical outcomes. Needs Assessment: The attendees in the past wanted to learn podiatric pathology related to DM, Diabetic foot infection (soft tissue and osseous); therefore, these were included. The attendees in the past wanted to learn more about the latest in the management of type 2 Diabetes; therefore, Most of Friday has been devoted to this topic. To review epidemiological data, an epidemiologist is included as a faculty to assist population-based learning The attendees in the past wanted to learn peripheral vascular disease, therefore, these were included. The attendees in the past wanted to learn wound care in the diabetic foot and methods of treatments, therefore, these were included.
