One of the activities of the Mandal is the Ganit Prabhutwa Spardha (GPS) for the students of Std.V and Std. VIII, which is jointly carried out with Brihan Mumbai and Nashik District Mathematics Teacher s Association. Mathematics is a favourite subject of many students. GPS provides an opportunity to these students to study the subject in depth. Preparation for this competition will be very much useful for the Government Scholarship Examination. The GPS consists of two levels Level I: Ganit Prabhutwa Examination Standard : For students of Std.V and Std.VIII. Curriculam : As indicated in the books Ganit Prabhutwa - Std. 5 and Ganit Prabhutwa Std. 8, for the respective standards. Questions carrying 70 marks will be from these books. Answers are expected with explanations. Nature of Exam : A question paper of 100 marks, consisting short and long answer questions. Medium : Marathi and English Date and Time : Sunday 11-12-2016, 12 noon to 3 p.m. Centre : Will be notified later. Result : Will be declared on 09-01-2017 on the website www.punemathassociation.com. It will also be sent by courier to school later. Awards and : 1) A certificate will be awarded to the students scoring at Prizes least 50 marks. 2) A cash prize of Rs.200/- will be awarded to the students Securing at least 75 marks. These students shall be eligible for the level-ii which is Ganit Prabhutwa Spardha.
Fees Entry : (A) Enrollment through school: 1) Rs.80/- per student: from 12-08-2016 to 26-08-2016. 2) Rs.100/- per student (inclusive of Rs.20 as late fee) from 28-08-2016 to 02-09-2016. 3) Rs.120/- per student (inclusive of Rs.50 as late fee) from 04-09-2016 to 11-09-2016. (B) For personal enrolement: Rs.120/- per student, from 04-09-2016 to 18-09-2016 Admission can also be secured ONLINE. For details, see another circular on the website www.punemathassociation.com : 1) School has to prepare a separate list of students in each standard, in duplicate. 2) The list must be signed by the Principal or by a competent authority of the school, with designation stamp. 3) Submit the lists together with the fees at Varma Book Centre, Appa Balwant Chowk, Pune-30; from 12 August 2016 to 26 August 2016 between 9.30a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.; except on Saturdays. 4) List with late fees will be accepted from 28 August 2016 to 2 Sept. 2016 at the same venue. Level-II: Ganit Prabhutwa Spardha There are no additional fees for this level. This competition, for the eligible students of Std.V and Std.VIII, will be conducted on Sunday, 19-02-2017 at Pune.
