MONTHLY ACTIVITY REPORT-August 2015 1. Sankalp Team started a full fledged tuition centre at Birsanagar Area, Telco. The centre has been started with support from a local NGO United Forum for Health and Environment run by Social Enthusiast Ms. Meena Mukherjee. The centre runs in two batches 5 PM to 6.30 PM for junior section and 6.30 8 PM for secondary section. Mr. Nikhil has been hired as permanent teacher for taking tuition classes for both the groups. 2. Sankalp added another feather to its cap when India s Industrial giant TML Drivelines (a unit of Tata Motors) chose Sankalp as its CSR partner for launching social welfare initiatives in the areas around Birsanagar. This was Sankalp s first association with corporate sector and thus begins a new era in the history of our cause and journey. 3. Under the partnership, TML Drivelines provided funds for the complete annual expenditure on the education of 13 underprivileged children in Birsangar Area. The selected students are mostly tribal girls whose family can ill afford their education. 4. The fund was distributed in the presence of Ms. Meena Mukherjee and Mr Nikhil to the selected girls. 5. Independence Day was organized with full energy and vitality across all the Sankalp Centres. Prizes were distributed to bright students who performed well in their respective schools 6. Sankalp is currently working on several collaboration with NGOs across the country to expand its horizon of working and include multidimensional aspects in the education that is imparted to children at its centres 1. Collaboration with NGO Bagsbooksandblessings for distribution of school related stuff to needy children-shrema Singh to talk to the NGO referred and prepare a blueprint for future action 2. Collaboration with a Delhi based orphanage to start a full fledged orphanage cum education centre in Delhi-Suresh Pareek will be the central point of contact for necessary action after talking to Intisaar Khan of Delhi 3. Collaboration with Khel Duar, an NGO based in West Bengal and Assam...for promoting poverty stricken talented school girls and boys in tribal areas through professional training in football and full scholarship-aman Kumar will contact Khel Duar team and apprise us of the future plan 4. JV with ministry of Social Welfare, Government of Jharkhand for acting as associate NGO for launch of Gramin Kaushal Vikas Yojana in Adityapur-President to prepare a draft proposal and submit to the concerned ministry by Monday 5. Joint Initiatives with NGOs of BIT Sindri, Mesra and ISM Dhanbad in Jharkhand-Mechanism for JV, roadmap for collaboration and first meeting of stakeholders to be finalized tomorrow after discussing with representatives of Prayaas. 6. Vivek Sir's Centre-3 point action plan to be detailed out by Zeba Perwin and report submitted by Monday 7. Teams have been formed and voluntters assigned roles to communicate wth the NGOs and chalk out a detailed strategy for taking the venture to the stages of finalization and implementation

8. Sankalp will now focus on learning beyond textbooks to include scientific methods of learning like model making, innovation thru web based projects and IT literacy across all centres 9. As part of infrsstruvtural developmemtn, renovation work took place across centres in Mohan Nagar. Tube lights, new mats and fans were fitted to make it more airy and illuminated 10. A special volunteer group of 4-5 students for separate classes of sponsored students with a view to closely monitor and improve their academic performances has been formed both at Mohan Nagar and Hostel A Centre 11. Mr. Rajesh joined Sankalp as a teacher at Aashiyana Centre in Adityapur 12. First level of course curriculum completed at Adult Literacy Classes. Marked improvement in learning skills of ladies was found at Mohan nagar where women now have learnt basic alphabets, numerals, newspaper reading and Basic English. 13. Sankalp organized a PR cum awareness session in Mohan Nagar Area. 14. Monthly interaction led by President took place with the Team and special mention was made to the tireless efforts which the volunteers are making for making the different activities successful 15. Both Sankalp-A pledge to change and Sankalp Volunteers group FB page noted huge hike in likes and membership over the month 16.
