IMPORTANT POINTS OF ADMISSION PROCEDURE All the candidates are required to report in the institute auditorium as per schedule on 05.08.2016. 1. Only GATE qualified candidates will be considered for fresh admission or change in discipline for the seats earmarked for CCMT-2016. In addition, the candidates must possess the qualifying degree with at least 60% marks on equivalent CGPA with 5% relaxation for SC/ ST and persons with disability (PwD) category candidates. 2. For the vacant seats of the three under self supporting programmes, the order of preference will be as under:- a) GATE qualified candidates. b) Non- GATE candidates who have qualified the written test conducted earlier by respective departments. c) Non-GATE candidates holding first class degree in relevant B.E./ B.Tech. discipline. The merit of such candidates will be based on the marks secured in the qualifying degree. 3. All the candidates must possess the qualifying degree with at least 60% marks on equivalent CGPA with 5% relaxation for SC/ ST and persons with disability (PwD) category candidates. 4. Online registration/ re-registration can be done from 30.07.2016 to 04.08.2016 upto 03.00 P.M. during the working hours from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm. 5. All the candidates desirous of taking admission in any of the M.Tech. programmes are required to register /re-register online on website http://pec.ac.in. 6. Candidates already registered through CCMT-2016 /those registered for admission to other M.Tech. seats of PEC through a written test/ candidates registered for M.Tech. programme in Industrial Materials & Metallurgy will have to re-registered through online mode for participating in this round but they need not pay the registration fee again. Fresh candidates are required to pay a non-refundable registration fee in favor of PEC University of - PG Admissions payable at Chandigarh 7. The admitted candidates are required to deposit an amount of Rs. 33,250/- for GATE qualified candidates of regular programmes or Rs. 75,750/- for self supporting programmes in the form of Demand Draft in favor of PEC University of - PG Admissions payable at Chandigarh. 8. Hostel fee is payable separately in the form of Demand Draft in favor of Director, PEC University of payable at Chandigarh in case the candidate wants to avail the hostel facility.
9. The candidates are required to produce all the originals certificates and fee at the time of counseling. No relaxation in time will be given for arranging the money or for bringing the original certificates from another place. 10. All admissions to M.E. programmes shall be provisional and subject to approval by the Chairman Senate of PEC University of, Chandigarh. 11. The candidate should bring all the original certificates and one set of self attested photocopies at the time of counseling. 12. Only those candidates who have passed their pre-final year/cleared all subjects up to 7 th semester exam and appeared / passed in their qualifying exam (8 th semester) should apply for admission. In case the results are awaited, they should furnish an undertaking at the time of counseling. 13. Academic registration of all admitted candidates will take place in the institute auditorium on 05.08.2016. It is mandatory to attend classes regularly after registration. In case a candidate fails to attend classes continuously for one week, his/ her admission will be cancelled. The fees paid by such candidates will be refunded as per the rules of the Institute. 14. All GATE/ NON-GATE seeking admission to any of the M.E. programmes are required to bring the confirmation page along with the proof of registration fee at the time of counseling. 15. The schedule may change without prior notice. The candidates are therefore advised to visit the institute website http://www.pec.ac.in from time to time for any change in the schedule.
