PRESIDENTS NOTES Wow, the time has really slipped away: it s time for another NLA meeting and class. The upcoming class is High Security Cylinder Servicing taught by Clyde Roberson,CML,CPL,AHC, CPP. There won t be any disassembly of the locks in the class, so no tools are needed except for note taking. The class will be held at the New Victorian Inn Suites in Lincoln, NE. The price of the room is $59.00 per night, make sure to mention you re with NLA. Be sure to make your reservation by January 11th: after that the block is released. On the Friday night before the class, Ruth Karlsson will be giving another NE Sales Tax Class at 7:00 pm. We ll meet at the hotel and go to supper by 6:00 pm. Please make your class reservation by January 14th so I can send the roster to ALOA. The dues are due for the next year, please settle up with Josh Seybert. Also I wanted to welcome Charlie Ward as our new Secretary and Tony Delgado as our new Director. Finally, one more note: DUE TO THE EASTER HOLIDAY THE GRAND ISLAND CLASS IN APRIL HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE 30TH OF APRIL. Please make a note on your calendar. He has been a locksmith for over 30 years and was the ALOA High Security locksmith Champion in 1991. He has security industry certifications from the Door & Hardware Institute (AHC), ASIS Internatioal (CPP) as well SAVTA (CPS) and ALOA (CML). He has been an active ALOA ACE instructor For more then 10 years. Class Description This one-day class will present an overview of high security cylinders from around the world. Different manufacturer s unique solutions to the design, production, and distribution of high security cylinders; what constitutes high security and some of the advantages and disadvantages to each approach will all be discussed. N. American high security cylinders will also be discussed as a background for comparison and to assist in the preparation for the PRP elective. No hands-on disassembly will be done, but samples and AV material showing operation and disassembly will be shown. PRP testing for those who wish to take it will cost $15.00 Make your room reservations at the New Victorian Inn Suites by January 11, as after that the block of rooms saved for us is released. Nebraska Locksmith Association Minutes for October 23, 2010 Meeting opened at 8:03 a.m. A motion was made to accept the minutes as published was made by Dave Horstman. Motion was seconded by everyone. Motion carried. NLA treasures report was read by Tony Delgado. A motion to accept the treasures report as read was made by Davie Horstman and seconded by Charlie Ward. Motion carried. Old Business: None New Business: Nate Peterson received his second reading for membership into the NLA. Gene Hansen made a motion to accept Nate as a new member and Ryan Anderson seconded. Motion carried, a BIG WELCOME TO NATE!!! Gene Hansen read the applications for Danel Walderbuch and Sharon Gregory. This is considered their first reading.ege Gene talked about the research that he did on licensing and what is currently needed in the sate of Nebraska. Gene then talked about The Omaha World Herald s write up about scammers and the best way to know your Locksmith article. Tony Delgado declared that he was st epping down as Treasurer for NLA after many years of service. Tony then nominated Josh Seybert to be Treasurer. Charlie Ward seconded, and the motion carried. Scott Hansen made a motion for Charlie Ward to take over as Secretary for NLA. John Firestine seconded. Motion carried. Elmer Howard made a motion for Tony Delgado to be Director. Lori seconded. Motion carried. Ryan Anderson talked about the class on Easter weekend being moved up to the weekend of April 8th and 9th. Elmer Howard made a motion to not put any of the financial information into the newsletter. Dave Horstman seconded and the motion carried. John Firestine made a motion to create a bunker fund for general use (soda, donuts, coffee, stamps, etc.) Dennis Gregory seconded the motion. Motion vote, motion carried. Omaha, NE, Oct. 22, 2010 Alternative Entry Techniques Instructor David Thielen did a great job on the class. All the materials was covered real well. It is nice when we can get people that do so well. There was a great turnout as you can see. It is great that we can fill the classroom each time like this. Vice Pres. Eugene Hansen welcomes Nate Peterson as a member in good standing with NLA now. We are blessed with lots of good members and they come and for a fine education and the friendship of all.

There was 3 large tables and all seats was taken. With the 3 large tables it was real convenient for the instructor and all to move around. The location makes it real nice as right next to the Hotel connected on is a nice restaurant That is open many hours. Because of the fine quality of classes many states are represented here. Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri.
