INTRODUCTION A total of 9303 students from abroad, representing 127* countries and 925 international faculty and staff representing 63* nations, claim Purdue University as their home this fall semester. The University s total international student enrollment ranks: 3 rd among U.S. public institutions 2 nd in the Big Ten 1 st in international students majoring in STEM disciplines The international student body comprises 23.0% of the total number of enrolled students. International undergraduate students comprise 17.1% of the total undergraduate body, or 5133 students. A total of 4170 international graduate and professional students represent 40.1% of all students at this level of study. Krannert School of Management (35.6%), College of Engineering (33.0%), College of Science (32.5%), Purdue Polytechnic Institute (16.4%) and College of Liberal Arts (14.8%), enroll the highest percentages of students from abroad. China ranks first (4138) in total enrollment while India (1898) is second. South Korea (685), Taiwan (278), Malaysia (164), Indonesia (122), Colombia (119), Iran (94), Turkey (94) and Pakistan (89) round out the top ten. China (443), India (101), South Korea (64), Brazil (28), Turkey (27), Canada (21), Italy (21), Japan (19), Spain (18), and Colombia (16) send the largest number of international faculty, researchers and staff. The majority of international scholars are in engineering (298), agriculture (148), physical sciences (101), and biology (73).
