A Unique Combination The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management and Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne One of the major benefits of attending The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management is our exclusive academic association with the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) in Switzerland. This association ensures that our programmes of study are internationally recognised and facilitates us in achieving our objective, which is to foster well educated and experienced hospitality professionals. EHL was founded in 1893, and is the oldest and one of the most respected hospitality schools in the world. From the start, its approach emphasised not only the technique but also the culture of hospitality: the mixture of tangible and intangible elements that make up this unique industry. EHL was the first hospitality school in Switzerland to be part of the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland, with government recognition at university level. While EHL plays an active part in the university, often referred to by its French initials HES- SO, it retains its independence and distinctive character, building on its own tradition of excellence which has made it a reference in hospitality education for more than a century. With more than a century of experience in hospitality management education, EHL is an institution steeped in traditions as rich as those of the most venerable hotels around the world - yet a visit to the school reveals a young, dynamic institution with ultra-modern facilities. EHL has always striven to be at the forefront of change while preserving and reinterpreting its heritage for each new generation. EAHM is proud to be in academic association with EHL. The relationship between both institutions have developed over the years and students from both institutions are able to spend up to an academic year in either Dubai or Switzerland.
An Exciting Career In the world s fastest growing industry! There is no greater joy for EAHM than to be recognised by its students as they begin their professional careers. With valued roles in prestigious organisations, EAHM s graduates continue to build their careers and meet their personal goals. Here is what some of them had to say: Bernd Knaier German, Graduate of 2011 Assistant Executive Housekeeper, Raffles Beijing Hotel My studies at EAHM were extremely valuable due to the high level of education and the industry connections I was able to establish over the last 3 years. The ideal conditions of the school facilities and the attractive campus surroundings paired with the constantly growing touristic environment of Dubai made my experience at EAHM worthwhile. The school s close links with Jumeirah and other international hotel chains, such as Kempinski, Hyatt and Hilton, enhanced the quality of our internships. Furthermore, the association with Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland and Cornell University in the United States of America made the decision to come here the perfect choice for my career advancement! Genene Barraclough British, Graduate of 2011 Assistant Marketing and Communications Manager, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Jumeirah Group Over the past years, I witnessed EAHM grow dramatically, receiving numerous accreditations and recognitions making it undoubtedly one of the top hospitality institutions worldwide - a superb achievement for such a young University. I can confidently say that my degree has provided me with a number of exciting career opportunities. I was hired by Jumeirah immediately after I completed my studies and it is a fantastic job that I have now which combines my enthusiasm for writing with my passion for working in the dynamic hospitality industry. My fellow alumni and I would highly recommend EAHM as your top choice for a jumpstart to your career in the Hospitality and Tourism industry. Omar Aboulnaga Egyptian, Graduate of 2010 Business Development Manager, Trump International Hotel & Tower Toronto Studying at EAHM was the most important and beneficial decision I made, socially and professionally. A culturally diverse community, world renowned lecturers, over flowing with interesting people, full of opportunity and the fact that you are literally surrounded by some of the world s most famous and luxurious hotels, other hospitality Universities simply cannot match the experience. After my graduation I joined the pre-opening team of Jumeirah Zabeel Saray in the capacity of Event Coordinator (acting Event Manager). A year and two months later I was promoted to the Dubai Cluster Sales Team as Corporate Sales Executive and the following year, after having lived in Dubai for 13 years, I decided it was time to move on and relocate to Toronto, Canada where I am now working at the Trump International Hotel & Tower Toronto as the Business Development Manager. My journey has only begun and I am excited to see where it will take me.
