SCHEDULING INFORMATION 1. There are 8 classes that can be taken in the Voorhees schedule. When filling out the Scheduling Contract know that as a Freshman you are required to take 7 classes (or 35 credits). If you do not select 8 classes that will indicate that you want a study hall built into your schedule. 2. Each full-year class is worth 5 credits, while semester long classes are worth 2.5 credits 3. Course selections should be based on the Teacher Recommendations.
MATH INFORMATION Freshmen are scheduled into Algebra 1. EXCEPTION Those students who have taken Algebra 1 AND have scored at a certain level on the VHS Math Placement Test. Students who score below the cut-off on the VHS common assessment, and demonstrate serious deficiencies in math foundational skills will be scheduled into Algebra 1 lab in addition to their math class.
TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS: Mailed home the final week of December Needed to fill out scheduling contract-please DO NOT FILL OUT CONTRACT WITHOUT TEACHER RECOMMENDATIONS Rubric/placement test provided by VHS Based on teachers experience throughout the current school year Questions regarding the reasoning behind recommendations should be directed to teachers Do not request teachers to change recommendations Overrides take place through high school guidance department (during the summer)
