ACSC teachers will continue to use the highly effective Substitute Teacher request management system known as Absence Management (formally Aesop). Mrs. Tracy Gray will still serve as our Absence Management Substitute Teacher Coordinator, responsible for the assignment of Substitute Teachers throughout the corporation. Mrs. Gray s cell phone number is 317-460-9832 and her email address is trgray@avon-schools.org. She is available to support Substitute Teacher requests from 6:00-10:00 am AFTER the following Substitute Teacher procedures have been followed. To request a Substitute Teacher for any absence from school please follow this two-step process: a. Step One: Request a Leave via Skyward Employee Portal b. Avon educators and instructional assistants who require Substitute Teachers are required to request a leave and guest teacher for all absences from assigned duties. These include: a. Bereavement* b. Family Illness* c. Personal** d. B/A Personal** e. Personal Illness f. Professional*** g. Jury Duty h. Without Pay * Must include name of family member and relationship ** The day before or after a holiday requires a reason *** Requires a professional development form (Old Pink Form)
Steps for Requesting a Substitute Teacher Step 1 Skyward You can log into Skyward by going to the M Drive, open the Skyward folder, then click on the Skyward EA link (please save this link as a shortcut on your desktop). Please use your Avon computer login and password to gain access to Skyward. A message may appear informing that you need to allow pop ups for Skyward. If the pop-up message displays, go to the top right of the screen in the search menu bar and click on the x and select Always Allow Pop-Ups, click done, then click on retry. Click on the Time Off tab THEN Click, My Requests Click the Add button on the right hand side. Complete the Time Off Request section. Be sure to leave appropriate notes especially for bereavement, personal and professional development. This section allows you to select other employees you would like to know about your absence. i.e. teaching team, secretary, etc. (this is not required)
