I would like to thank all the students, parents and staff for their tremendous hard work and support throughout the term. There have been many student achievements over the course of the term. Transition to electronic Newsletter As indicated in an earlier newsletter this term we have been transitioning to distributing the weekly school newsletter electronically. As of the first week of Term Two the school newsletter will be emailed to all family email addresses as provided by parents and also able to be downloaded off the School website as per already available. Families that have requested to still have a hard copy of the school newsletter will still be able to do so upon request. School Cross Country The Annual School Cross Country will be held this Thursday 29 March. The first race will commence shortly after 9am. The order of events commence with the 12 years boys and girls running 3km and then followed by the 11years, 10years and so on right through until the Prep aged students.

From the Principal Term Two The first day of Term Two for all students is Tuesday 17 April. Easter vacation May I wish all school staff, students and family members a safe and restful Easter vacation. Please take care if travelling on the roads. Happy Easter to all. Kind Regards David This term has rushed by us so quickly! From the Deputy Principal A huge thank you to our students, staff and families for making me feel so welcome. It has been a wonderful term full of laughter and learning. Thank you to our Year 3 and Year 4 parents who booked their parent teacher interviews online and attended in the hall. You will receive a survey to provide feedback as to the success and future opportunities in this format. We look forward to your feedback. Last week also saw our Playground Rangers complete their training. Our Year 6 students had the opportunity to volunteer to be a Playground Ranger. This is a support role in the playground. The students have learned about active listening, problem solving, effective support the High 5 strategy along with organising structured games with rules for Prep and Year 1 students. Our Playground Rangers are identified by the blue vest that they wear and are a huge asset in the playground. The Rangers will venture out in to the Year 2 and Year 3 playground next term. A busy week of events to end this term. I am looking forward to our Easter Bonnet Parade this Wednesday at 2:15pm in the Hall to be followed by our Cross Country on Thursday. We will also see a number of our year level teaching teams coming together to plan for term 2.

From the Deputy Principal Next term our Year 2-6 children will have the opportunity to participate in the ICAS assessments. The International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) is an independent, quality skills-based assessment program which rewards and recognises achievement. ICAS gives you broad insights into your child s performance across English, Mathematics, Science, Spelling and Writing. All students and staff are requested to Go Blue and donate a gold coin for Autism Queensland. For an additional gold coin donation students and staff will also have the opportunity to purchase a Go Blue for Autism tattoo or have their hair sprayed blue.
