B A Y L O R Total hours of practice-based requirements* are among the highest in the nation. *Community-based course projects, mid-program practicum (200 contact hours), and an internship or community-based thesis (400 contact hours).

B A Y L O R Community Health Partners Program Faculty and students work with community partners to assess health needs/capacities; develop, implement, and evaluate programs and interventions; and conduct research. Partnership Structures course projects study-abroad programs funded research practica, internships, & theses

B A Y L O R Optional global health emphasis area* is strongly practice-based through course project, practicum, and internship experiences in global health. *15 credit hours (2 courses+practicum+graduate project) embedded in 42-credit hour degree

B A Y L O R Students who select the optional Global Health Emphasis Area... Enroll in global health courses for their two required electives. Obtain global health experience in their mid-course practicum. Complete their community-based internship/thesis work (graduate project) in a global health setting.

B A Y L O R Our optional Baylor in Brazil Summer Study Abroad Program... is specifically designed to engage our students in global health learning experiences. Baylor in Brazil Summer Study Abroad Earn 6 credit hours in international health, crosscultural health communication, environmental health, or health practicum. Practice health promotion in an international public health setting. Impact lives in Brazilian communities. Explore vocational aspects of a health-related career.

B A Y L O R Our graduate teaching assistants gain experience as university instructors* and receive a stipend and tuition remission. *We use a peer education model and provide training and supervision.
