Bridget Bulletin Volume 14, Issue 14 december 5, 2012 SCHOOL NEWS Movie Night Success! Great job third graders for collecting four boxes of toys to be donated to Toys for Tots! Over $200 was collected from popcorn and water sales to be donated to Little Sisters of the Poor! Thank you to all of the families who attended and a special thanks to Cinebistro for donating the popcorn. Most of all, thank you third graders and your parents for making movie night a success! 8 th GRADE POINSETTIA SALE! Save a trip to the greenhouse! Let us bring the greenhouse to you! The 8th grade at St. Bridget School will be selling poinsettias for the Christmas season. Please see attached flyer and order form. Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass: Wednesday, December 12 @ 9:00 am Christmas Concert Information Thursday, Dec. 13, 7:00 pm Dressing up! Grades 1-3 Boys: Light-weight sweater, turtleneck or dress shirt and tie with khaki or dark dress slacks and dress shoes. Grades 1-3 Girls: Holiday or church dress (solid colors are best) or light sweater or blouse over dark skirt or pants. St. Bridget School Choir & Chimes Choir: White dress shirt, white turtleneck, or white sweater / black dress pants or skirt / dark dress shoes (no heels) Remember to wear your concert clothes again on Friday for the school concert at 8:30 am! Please don t wear any of the following clothing: No jeans or denim skirts of any color No leggings worn as pants tunics must be at least fingertip length No sneakers or boots on Thursday night No heavy clothing Arrival: Seating: Picture Taking: Departure: Please arrive at school no later than 6:30 to report to your assigned classroom. Doors to MPH will open for general seating at 6:30 pm. We will provide opportunities to photograph each group between performances. Students will be seated by class in MPH. Please remain seated throughout the performance and please remember to collect your child(ren) from their classroom teacher promptly when it is concluded.

Early Bird Fitness 7:15 am 7:45 am Monday through Thursday MPH. Students will be offered an opportunity to improve their fitness level with documented early morning workouts that consist of jogging, walking, and biking. The objective is for students to develop and enhance their cardiovascular fitness and muscular endurance. Students must arrive before 7:30 am to participate. Monday: K & 1st Tuesday: 2nd & 3 rd Wednesday: 4 th & 5 th Thursday: 6 th, 7 th, & 8 th This schedule is subject to change. Information will be posted on Coach Spelsberg s Edline Page. (The charge for the day remains $17 per child with multiple child discounts). Thursday, December 20: The December Birthday and Christmas Party. Friday, December 21 through Friday, January 4, 2013: Closed for the Holidays Monday, January 7, 2013: Program resumes Friday, January 18: Fun Friday 12:00 (noon dismissal) to 6:00 pm. Cafeteria Update: Thursday, December 13 - Holiday Meal Served Thursday, December 20 Pasta Lunch Served (correction from online menu) PTO NEWS This year s GIRLS NIGHT OUT was a great success! The evening provided an opportunity for fellowship and fun while raising almost $10,000! Thank you to our chairs, Christie Turnbull and Christine Rotter for their many hours and dedication to making this event such a success. They led a committee of dedicated volunteers including Catherine Rowe, Christie Barrafato, Becky Mann, Tess Bosher, Sarah Birckhead, Honor Carver, Kara Hart, Florinda Chun, Rhonda Thomas, Jen McDonough, Mary Harrison, Beth Siewers, Rita Stocks, and Christine Wampler. Thanks to all for your help! Also thanks to our inkind donors: Pleasants Hardware, Kroger, Martins, Sam's Club, BJ's Wholesale, Chick-fil-a Parham Road, Whole Foods, Target, Kroger's Sushi Bar, and Tony Barrafato (class '79). Spirit dinner: Thursday, December 13th, stop by Bocca Toscana and grab dinner. You can order and pick up on the way home from school, or stop in before or after the holiday concert and grab a bite! Hold on to your receipt and send it to the office the next day attn: Nina Patton. What an easy way to help raise funds for the school and save yourself a night of cooking!
