Participants will learn practical English language used in real work scenarios phrases, conversations and pronunciation. How is Learn English Select structured? There are five levels which participants can complete in any order they wish but there is a suggested linear route through the content. It is expected participants will take approximately 20-25 weeks to complete one level. Study is self-paced and the time taken to complete each level will vary according to the individual learner. Our methodology ensures a balance of activities and exercises to develop grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, as well as key skills, for the world of work. 2

Learn English Select focusses on three workplace contexts: o Entering the workplace: applying for jobs, preparing for an interview o In the workplace: interacting in the workplace, meetings, presentations (including informal settings and socialising outside the workplace) o Facing the public: describing products and services, interacting with clients and customers. offers functional language phrases and real, authentic workplace scenarios; content is not grammar-driven offers a sense of completion as there is a progress test after every module, covering specific learning objectives. Learn English Select develops the English language skills needed when entering the workplace, when on the job and when facing the public A self-printable certificate of completion is available after the end of each level. There are two versions of the course: Digital version Blended version *Single module Learn English Select **Complete course Learn English Select: 5 modules 45 hours 45 hours online and 20 hours face-to-face. 225 hours 225 hours online and 100 hours face-to-face. *Single module means one level/eight modules for six months. **Complete course means five levels/40 modules (5 levels x 8 modules = 40 modules) for one year. 5

Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation. Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options. Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken. Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans. Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need. Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. Can introduce him/her and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has.
