CONTENT OUTLNE The course wll take a number of labor and employment law topcs and contrast the approach of the Unted States wth that of one or more other countres. The topcs wll nclude ndvdual employment contracts, unons and collectve barganng, wage and hour laws, employment dscrmnaton, pregnancy and chldcare, prvacy, and other topcs that help llumnate contrasts between the laws of dfferent countres, Wthn each topc, we wll start wth the approach of the Unted States and compare t to that of one or more dfferent countres. For example, wth unons and collectve barganng, we wll compare the approach of the Unted States wth that of Canada (wth more robust protectons of, among other thngs, the rght to strke) and Germany (wth ts corporate governance system of codetermnaton and works councls). 14.
