Narrative Unit Narrative Unit Approximate Pacing 6 Weeks Unit Enduring Objectives/Understanding Students Will Understand: Writers can write personal narrative stories about their own life experiences that consist of sequenced events which tell a story from the beginning (opening), through the middle and into the end (closure). Personal narrative writing consists of sequenced events which include details about what has happened and utilize transition words to signal event order before a closure. Writers utilize illustrations, labels, captions and form sentences to express thoughts and ideas about a topic and use organizers to help organize their story before writing. Writers use vivid word choice to help convey their message to a reader.
