We are excited to offer many new Open Classes and the opportunity to audition for our Performance Companies this year alongside our extensive Syllabus Examination Classes. Classes are open to male and female students aged 3years to adult and open to all members of the community, not only to St Margaret s College students. The following information outlines the classes on offer and a brief description of each dance genre. The syllabus classes will all sit examinations during the year and work towards an end of year performance. The open classes are performance based and will work towards at least two performances throughout the year. All classes perform in our major school show at the end of each year and the performance companies will perform at community events throughout the year. Please be aware that fees will be invoiced at the beginning of each term and these are GST inclusive. Students who leave during a term will be obliged to pay the full term s fees. A term s written notice is required to withdraw from a class. BALLET - BBO Syllabus - British Ballet Organisation: The British Ballet Organization (BBO) is recognised worldwide as one of the most prestigious dance examining societies offering teacher training and examinations in classical ballet, tap, modern and jazz. The BBO has schools throughout the UK, and branches in Australia and New Zealand. Its qualifications are also offered at BBO schools in Spain, Italy, Cyprus, Sweden, Malta, Jordan and Singapore. The BBO is an Awarding Body whose qualifications are recognised by the regulatory authority

for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA). The BBO is an accredited society of the Council for Dance Education and Training. Syllabus classes work to teach foundation techniques, repertoire, and performance skills in Ballet. The classes work sequentially to layer technique. Students work towards dancing on Pointe at Intermediate Foundation level and/or when is appropriate for the individual students strength and ability. Examinations are offered as a means to measure progress and encourage students in their learning process. Students working at Grade 4 and above are expected to attend 2 classes per week to best prepare them for the examination repertoire and for preparation for pointe work. Grade 4 students are encouraged to attend the Junior Coaching class as their second class. Grade 5 through to Advanced Ballet requires attendance in 2 classes per week. All prices are GST inclusive. Pre Primary 30 min class Term Fee $115.00 Primary 3 4 Hour class Term Fee $132.25 Grade 1 1 Hour class Term Fee $140.00 Grade 2 2x Hour class Term Fee $260.00 Grade 3 2 x Hour class Term Fee $280.00 (2 x classes per week for the exam) Grade 4 2x 1 Hour class Term Fee $280.00 (2 x classes per week for the exam) Grade 5 2 1/4 Hour over 2 classes (2.25) Term Fee $290.00 Intermediate Foundation 2x 1 Hour class Term Fee $290.00 Intermediate Ballet 2x 1 Hour class Term Fee $290.00 Advanced 1 Ballet 2x 1 1/4 Hour class (2.5) Term Fee $315.00 Ballet Open Classes: Pointe Technique Classes: 45 minute intensive class Term Fee $80.50 (Grade 5 up) Pointe class focuses on conditioning / strengthening work and specific pointe techniques for students working towards going onto pointe and for students consolidating their pointe technique. Advanced Pointe and Repertoire: 1 x Hour class Term Fee $115.00 Open Ballet focuses on learning repertoire, technique and Choreography for performance work. A fun exploratory class to extend senior dancers within the art of Ballet Company performance. AMERICAN JAZZ DANCE - AJDA Syllabus The Jazz Syllabus is structured on a progression basis that starts at age five years and progresses through 14 levels to Advanced and Solo Seal. The work fully trains the Student in all aspects of basic Ballet techniques and the dynamics of technique required to encourage performance, style and the sheer enjoyment of Dance.

Technical Examinations are conducted in August of each year. Students are examined in groups. The Affiliation gives monetary awards to the candidates with the highest mark in each level and a cash award is given each year to the most promising Advanced Student. We also offer the Junior Jazz Class to dancers aged 4-8 years old. These are fun, funky classes aimed at developing confidence, movement to music and developing some foundation dance techniques ready for intro 1-3. Junior Jazz (Intro 1-2 ) ¾ Hour class Term Fee $115.00 Intro 3 1 Hour class Term Fee $130.00 Intro 4-5 1 Hour class Term Fee $135.00 Elementary 1 3 1 Hour class Term Fee $140.50 Intermediate 1 1 Hour class Term Fee $150.00 Intermediate 3 1 Hour Class Term Fee $150.00 (2 classes per week = $250.00) JAZZ TECHNIQUE COACHING CLASSES: Jazz Technique classes are now being offered to all students from Intro level 5 upwards. These classes will be run in an open class style to help students build on syllabus class work. Strength, core stability and jazz style will be emphasized. These classes are highly recommended and encouraged for all students intending to sit exams from Elementary Level 1 through to Advanced levels. This offers students an extra Jazz class each week, which with the new AJDA syllabi introduced we feel is very necessary. Senior Technique (Intermediate students )Term Fee $115.00 TAP DANCE - Glen Wood Syllabus Consisting of 9 levels (beginner to professional) Glenn Wood Tap the syllabus is comprehensive and user friendly, designed for both teaching tap dance and evaluating tap dance. It is founded on solid technique, whilst being fluid, relaxed and enjoyable. Each level contains a complete programme of tap dance containing individual steps, combinations, performance quality routines as well as barre activities and turning technique activities. Level 4 Syllabus Tap Term Fee $138.00 Level 5 / 6 Syllabus Tap Term Fee $142.75 Adult Open Tap Term Fee $142.75

OPEN CLASSES Open classes are performance based, no examinations, offered to students aged 3 years to adult. Students will have an opportunity to perform in TDA and community performances throughout the year. Technique, movement repertoire and stage skills are developed with a focus on creating performance pieces. TDA PERFORMANCE COMPANIES We offer audition opportunities throughout the year for students to join our Junior and Senior Performance companies in Ballet and Theatre Dance (Jazz, Hip Hop, Commercial, Contemporary). The companies train on a Saturday with various tutors and work on performances pieces for stage and community performance. The companies will have many opportunites through the year to perform in community events and also competition / display dances. Please visit the website for updates on these auditions. Pre School Dance: 3 5years Pre-School Funky Monkeys 30 minute class Term Fee $105.00 Pre-School Ballet 30 minute class Term Fee $105.00 Pre-School dance focuses on movement skills through exploration, interpretation and fun. Basic skills in Ballet and Jazz are introduced. Junior Tap Dance 3-6 years 45 min class Term Fee $115.00 Hip Hop Junior Open 8 12 Years, 1 hour $ 138.00 per term Senior Open 12 years Adult, 1 hour Contemporary Open Junior Open Intermediate Open Senior $115.00 per term Musical Theatre Junior 5 9 Years, 1 hour Senior 9-13 Years, 1 hour Musical Theatre classes focuses on a combination of Singing, Dancing and Acting. Known in

the Musical Theatre world as The Triple Threat! A fun class with the focus on theatre stage performance repertoire and performance. Students in this class will participate in group and/or solo singing if appropriate. Commercial Combo Dance 1 hour Commercial Jazz is a current street style dance, incorporating elements of Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Funk styles to portray a funky industry style dance genre. Similar to music video style dance. Commercial Dance will be taught in Modules by guest tutors throughout the year. Junior Lyrical Dance 1 hour $115.00 per term Lyrical dance is a combination of Contemporary and Ballet style. It is introduction for juniors to contemporary dance. Lyrical dance is an expressive dance form which allows performance and choreographic freedom from syllabus dance styles. It is often a dance which interprets lyrics in a song or theme. Please note: A high standard of personal grooming is expected at all times. Students are to wear the regulation uniform to every class. Hair is to be well groomed in a bun for ballet and a ponytail for jazz. It is acceptable to wear small earring studs but please leave all other jewelry at home. All items of clothing and shoes must be clearly labeled with the student's name. Watches brought into class should be left at the office. Students must wear street clothes to and from the studios.
