OGDENSBURG BOROUGH BOARD OF EDUCATION Minutes: December 4, 2018 Meeting The Special Session of the Ogdensburg Board of Education is called to order at 6:30 p.m. in the Library of the Ogdensburg School, 100 Main Street, Ogdensburg, New Jersey, 07439. OPEN PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE: Read by Ms. Corban "This is to advise the general public and to instruct that it be recorded in the Minutes that in compliance with Chapter 231 of the Public Laws of 1975, entitled the Open Public Meetings Act, Ogdensburg Board of Education, caused notice of this meeting to be posted at the Office of Ogdensburg Board of Education, mailed to the newspapers circulated in the district and to the Municipal Clerk of the Borough of Ogdensburg, and be posted at the Ogdensburg Elementary School and the school website, setting forth the time, date, and location of this meeting." Mr. Alvarez shared his thought for FIT club, which can start in May. 2x s per week for 4 weeks. COMMITTEE REPORTS/DISCUSSIONS Board Business: The November 2018 election results have been calculated, and there will be two returning members of the Ogdensburg Board of Education (first meeting of 2019 will be 1/2/19, which is a Wednesday): Ms. Sue Dolan (returning: 3-year term) Mr. Brendan Donegan (returning: 3-year term)

We are planning to have the school s reorganization meeting on January 2nd 2019, and all members of the community are welcomed. Because we need to have the reorganization meeting within the first 7 days of the New Year, we would like to announce a snow date of January 3rd. Personnel/Program: The committee met earlier this evening to discussed full-time Pre-K (which begins in Ogdensburg in January), school policies and Pre-K positions. Also discussed QSAC, and curriculum. Facilities/Finance: Pre-K enrollment, roof issues have been addressed. Also discussed submission for QSAC ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS Thanks to Ms. Cooke for a wonderful job on the newsletter. And a big thank you to Ms. Reeth for all of her help preparing the submission for QSAC. The Tree Lighting will be on 12/5. The Future Ready Banner will be hung in front of the school. Last week, Wallkill Valley held the National Honor Society ceremony, and Ogdensburg students were very well represented. CORRESPONDENCE COR 01: Notice Dated 11/17/18 from the Department of Education regarding maximum kindergarten classroom size COR 02: Letter dated 11/13/18 from Chief George O. Lott, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) thanking the Ogdensburg School Community for presenting the annual Veterans Day Ceremonies. AYE: Ms. Corban, Ms. Donegan, Mr. Conklin, Ms. Dolan, Ms. Walsh, Mr. Donegan and Ms. Gough FACILITIES/FINANCE MOTION presented by Mr. Donegan and seconded by Ms. Conklin to approve: F/F 111 RESOLVED, that the Ogdensburg Board of Education approves the November 2018 Check Register for checks from 001170 through 014327 with November Payroll, electronic funds transfers of $293,233.08 and accounts payable of $140,973.87 for a total of $434,176.95 (Attached) F/F 112 RESOLVED that Ogdensburg Board of Education, pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6A:23-2.12(c), accepts that as of October 31, 2018 no line item account has encumbrances and expenditures, which in total exceed the line item appropriation in violation of N.J.A.C. 6A:23-2.11(a). Pursuant to N.J.A.C. 6A:23-2.14(c) 4, after review of the Board Secretary s and Treasurer s monthly financial reports certify that as of October 31, 2018 and upon consultation with the appropriate district officials, to the best of their knowledge, no major account or fund has been over expended in violation of N.J.A.C. 6A:23-2.11 and that sufficient funds are available to meet the district s financial obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year. and N.J.S.A. 18A:22.8 and 18A:22-8.1 and sufficient funds are available to meet the district s financial obligations for the remainder of the fiscal year, and furthermore, F/F 113 RESOLVED, that the Ogdensburg Board of Education accepts, in compliance with NJSA 18A: 22-8.1, line item transfers for the month of October 2018, to ensure that no line items are over-expended (Attached). F/F 114 RESOLVED, that the Ogdensburg Board of Education approves the Written Hazard Communication Program dated 2018/2019.
