Ukulele Performance Festive Period in School During December, we will be placing out Santa s postbox for those children who would like to send a little card to a friend at school. The postbox will be placed in the Main Office from 30th November and Student Council will empty it and deliver cards to all classes on Wednesday 2nd, Friday 4th, Monday 7th and Wednesday 9th December. Ms Charas and all of the children would like to invite you all to watch each class perform a ukulele song on the final day of school (Tuesday, 15th December). The performances will begin at 9:00am Dance Performance This year, the dance club will perform their dance show on Tuesday, 15th December in the lunchroom at 8:40am. This will be the last dance that the club do this year as Mrs Hayes will go off on maternity leave in the middle of February. Student Council: A super suggestion from a student in Yr 5 This week, Student Council met with Mr Cameron and emptied the student suggestion box. There were a few good ideas posted by the children and the one that was seen as a good possibility was about adding the school logo on to our plastic cups. Student Council members spent break time researching companies that could create waterproof stickers for us. We hope to see them on our mugs in January Secret Santa Each year we host a Secret Santa activity in school. Santa will come round the school and nursery delivering gifts to all the children in their classes. Please see the Secret Santa letter that will be sent home next week to explain the details about purchasing a little gift for a child in the same class as your child.

We will set up a video camera during the Friday performance and Mr Cameron will make the video available to parents/guardians through a secure, password protected page on Vimeo in the same way as last year. Mrs Riley will also take photos of the children in the scenes so that parents can purchase a CD of lots of great photographic memories. This CD will be available for collection on Saturday, 12th December in the cafeteria at the theatre where the children perform. Chess Club This year I will be able to accept 40 members to Chess Club. I will begin by offering the priority to Yr 3-7 children and if there is a space left then I will offer the last few spaces to Yr 2 children. The club will run on a Tuesday after school from 15:00-16:30. An email will be sent out on Monday for parents to sign up their child to the club. I will sign up the first 40 replies from Yr3-7 children. Please check with you child first and make sure they really want to play chess every week as it is important to have children who really want to be there each week. School Nurse Anna Our new school nurse has taken over from the previous one and will now be with us every Friday. She will carry out all of the school nurse national requirements as well as being available to talk to any children or parent who would to chat. Telephone Number: 0760-239669 Email: tantoschoolnurse@icloud.com Smart Clothes for Christmas Lunch Monday, 14th December The Tanto International School will be hosting a Christmas lunch at school. Tradition has it that all of the children come in to school dressed in smart clothes as if going to dinner party. This is a nonuniform day and children always do such a great job of looking really smart for this special school day. YEAR 5 & 6/7: Art Overalls/Clothes/Long-Sleeved Aprons Painting of scenery and props will begin next week so please make sure Yr 5 & 6/7 have correct clothing in school to cover their school uniform when painting. Year 5 Moderna Museet Trip-2015-11-27 Next Friday, 27th November the Year 5 will be going to the Moderna Museet. They are very lucky to have Mrs Lind showing them around and sharing her Art knowledge with them as they explore up to nine influential artists. We all look forward to hearing about the trip after they come back. Year 5 & 6/7 Ski Trip Meeting Thanks to those parents who have confirmed they will or will not be able to attend the meeting about the ski trips. The ski trips are planned for 14th-20th February and now that I have received confirmation from 5 staff members that they can do the trip and be away from their families, we can start to prepare. I will email information and documents to those who are unable to attend the meeting.
