Division of Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness BOTTOM LINES Community College of Allegheny County Trends in Planning Data Academic Year 2016-2017 Dr. Michael Self Vice President, Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness Kevin Smay Assistant Vice President, Strategic Planning Giovanni Garofalo Assistant Director of Planning and Research Lucy Wang Planning and Research Analyst John Ingram Planning and Research Associate COPYRIGHT 2017, COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY

Preface The Division of Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness (AIE) is pleased to provide the release of the 2016-17 Bottom Lines, the fact book for CCAC. It is produced annually by AIE. When reviewing the pages within, it is important to keep these items in mind: The information provided in Bottom Lines analyzes trend data by academic year. The academic year runs July to June and consists of four terms: summer session- 2, fall, spring and summer session-1. For example, the academic year 2016-17 begins with the summer session-2 term in July and August 2016. The next term is fall, which runs until December 2016. Spring term runs January through May 2017, followed by summer session-1 in May and June 2017. Information not reported by the student when they register is not in the database. Gender is an example of data that may not be reported by a registered student. Therefore, adding together the total number of males and females may not always equal the total enrollment because not every registered student reports their gender. The most recent graduate information has been provided. Graduates are grouped by academic year and are surveyed six months after graduation. Therefore, there is a natural, one year lag in the availability of graduate survey results. Bottom Lines is also available to you online at www.ccac.edu/bottomlines. We hope this information is useful and in an easy to understand format. The document continues to be a work in progress, and can be improved by your input. We welcome your suggestions on how to improve Bottom Lines. If have any questions, please contact John Ingram, Planning and Research Associate. He can be reached at 412.237.3069.
