Women's College Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah started a School in 1906 for the education of Muslim girls which ultimately became the Women s College, a maintained institution of AMU in 1956. UG girl students in the Faculty of Arts, Social Sciences, Science,Life Sciences,Commerce, Agricultural Science receive instruction in the Women s College. FACULTY OF AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES 1. Course of Study : B.Sc. (Hons.) Home Science with not less than 55% marks in aggregate and 55% marks in Science subjects (Any three of these - Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Home Science) FACULTY OF ARTS Important : (a) Candidate applying for admission to B.A. (Hons.) Courses should indicate only the main subject in the Application Form which she wants to offer. Subsidiary subjects shall be decided at the time of admission, subject to the options available. (b) In addition to the minimum qualification for admission to B.A. (Hons.) (Hons.) Minimum Qualification : Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Commerce) or an equivalent examination with not less than 55% marks in aggregate of English and Accounts and two subjects from amongst Economics, Business Studies, Business Organization, Commerce, Banking, Mathematics and /or Statistics. Women Candidates who have passed the Diploma in Office Assistantship and Secretarial Practice (Diploma in Secretarial Practice) examination of this University with not less than 55% marks (in theory subjects only) in aggregate are also eligible. FACULTY OF LIFE SCIENCES 4. Course of Study : B.Sc. (Hons.) A candidate seeking admission to B.Sc.(Hons.) has to choose three subjects of which one shall be main and two subsidiaries.at least two of these subjects shall be from the Faculty of Life Sciences. 1. The following subjects may be taken as Main or Subsidiary Botany, Zoology or Biochemistry may be offered as Main 2. Chemistry may be offered as subsidiary subject only. NOTE : 1. Candidates with Biochemistry as Main subject shall offer Chemistry as one of the subsidiary subjects. 2. An applicant for B.Sc. (Hons.) Course should indicate only the main subject which she wants to offer. Subsidiary subjects shall be allotted at the time of admission.+ IMPORTANT: In addition to the minimum qualifications for admission to B. Sc. (Hons.) Courses, admission will be based on a merit list prepared on the basis of marks obtained in Physics / Home Science, Chemistry, English and Mathematics / Biology.
