Procedures for Application An enrolment package will be made available to students through agents or at the College upon requested. An enrolment form must be completed and submitted to the College or its agent. The enrolment form will be assessed and upon acceptance an Offer of Admission will be offered to the applicant. Students need to contact the nearest Immigration Service Office for information on applying for a visa to study in. The applicant must pay the stated fees into the College s Public Trust account by means of either Cash, Telegraphic transfer, Direct Debit, Bank Cheque or Credit Card. When the fees are received, a receipt and an Offer of Place will be issued to the applicant. Upon arrival at the College, students need to bring their passport and updated visa. Privacy Act Personal information is protected by the Privacy Act 1993. The information collected and held by NZCB will be used to register and enrol students, to assist students with their studies, to arrange for their stay in, to monitor their welfare and progress, and to keep in touch with students in the future. Information about a students enrolment, attendance, progress and welfare may be obtained from and disclosed to students parents, guardians, other providers of international education, the Police, Department of Courts, Immigration, NZQA, NZ Trade and Enterprise or insurance agent. Payment of fees All fees must be paid in full prior to commencement. Places are not guaranteed until the tuition fees have been paid in full. Withdrawals and refund policy NZCB s Refund Policy is based on a student s Course of Study. Course of Study is defined as the total length of each programme which the student has chosen to study as detailed in the offer of place and accepted by payment and enrolment. The formula for calculating a refund is as follows:

Cancellation of Enrolment by NZCB Compassionate reasons (only considered when withdrawal circumstances are beyond student's control and meet the requirements of Consideration of Compassionate Refund of Fees and Charges as set out in section 4 below) less than two weeks before the Course Start Date at another institution Where the relevant refund period has not expired Where the relevant refund period has expired Any time at the discretion of the CEO, in consultation with the management team The amount will be calculated as a standard request but the refund will be sent to that institution. Multiply the total tuition fees by the percentage that time remaining in the bears to the total time of the Total tuition fees less 20% of the tuition fee, or $3000, whichever is lesser, then multiplied by the percentage that time remaining in the bear to the total time of the Refund Pro-rata basis if approved. Evidence of enrolment at the other institute Termination of enrolment letter from NZCB Evidence to support the application for a refund under compassionate reasons. refund NZCB will not refund the tuition fees of any student whose Offer of Place is withdrawn through supplying of incorrect and/or fraudulent documentation. NZCB will not refund the tuition fees of any students who is removed from the College roll through non-attendance and/or is expelled by the College. College rules The college rules are put in place to ensure the college are operating smoothly All students enroll with NZCB must accept and obey these rules as contractual condition of enrolment. NZCB has the right to issue warning letter to a student shall a rule is broken. If there is no improvement of behaviour following the warning, NZCB has the right to expel the student. The Immigration will be informed if a student is expelled from the college. Details of college rules are included in NZCB Student Handbook. Infringement of Rules or Laws An Offer of Place may be withdrawn if a student obtains entry through supplying incorrect / fraudulent documentation. If a student does not comply with the NZCB s Rules and Regulations (as amended from time to time), NZCB s reserves the right to suspend or expel the student. Recognition of Prior Learning NZCB has a policy covering the recognition of prior learning. Applications for recognition of prior learning must be made on the prescribed form and be received by the College 5 working days prior to the commencement of study. Intellectual property All intellectual property created by the student while attending NZCB will be owned exclusively by and for the benefit of NZCB. Student Accommodation International students under the age of 18 are required to live with a parent/legal guardian, or live with a Designated Caregiver which NZCB approves. NZCB will undertake home visits of all students under the age of 18 who are staying with Designated Caregivers. Medical and Travel Insurance International Students must have current medical and travel insurance which meets The Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice 2016 approved requirements while studying in.
