Welcome to Year 13 Congratulations on your achievements in year 12 Timetables and student handbooks to be collected after this assembly during the extended tutor time. Any problems with your timetable please visit the Post 16 Reception Any students who need to re-sit Maths or English this will be put on your timetable at a later date. Big year this year. (UCAS completed by Christmas) First draft of personal statements need to be with your tutor by the end of September. Bursary Applications are due in by the end of September.

Important information will be put on the notice boards in the post 16 rooms, passed to tutors or emailed. Please make sure we have your up to date email address Key Information Post 16 now has its own reception in Room 43. Attendance to lessons/tutor time/assemblies will be closely monitored and action taken for non-attendance. It is proven that to achieve you need to attend all of your lessons. Students are expected to follow the dress code including wearing lanyards (safeguarding) on campus at all times. Should you not be dressed suitably for studying (following the dress code) you will be sent home to change. If you leave the campus during the college day you need to ensure you sign in and out. There are sheets provided in the Common Room, Main Dining Room (Near front doors) and the new Post 16 Reception.

Key Information Cont.. Respect the use of your swipe cards. When using your swipe card to gain entry into the buildings during the college day please remember to only swipe yourself in. DO NOT allow strangers/non- college members into the building. Mobile phones are allowed in Post 16 social areas and in non-contact time. They are not allowed to be used within lessons, unless for study, or in the corridors. Strict regulations are in place for 7-11 students and we need you to work with us please to uphold these rules You will be issued a student handbook along with your timetable. We expect you to have the handbook on you every day. A student tracker is included in the handbook, which your tutor will explain at the beginning of the year and you will be expected to keep this up-to-date.

Year 13 Tutor Time Structure Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Pastoral/PDP Discussion (Assembly follow up) Post 16 Bulletin/Post 18 Applications One to One One to One Assembly Non-Attendance to tutor time will be chased through your tutors attendance monitoring system. Attendance to tutor time and assemblies is essential, your tutor will write your reference for your Post 18 applications. Sanctions will be imposed for non-attendance.

Personal Development Program All students are required to attend personal development time every Monday and Tuesday (8.45-9.00) and 1 to 1 sessions with your tutor. Compulsory assemblies are weekly on a Friday morning in the Brookvale Dining Room. Assemblies will cover many topics essential to becoming a successful student and preparing for life after Post 16. Your tutor will arrange a 1:1 session for you at least once every term.

Head Boy and Girl This year the campus is looking to start a new student leadership programme, with you at the forefront. As Year 13, you are role models to the rest of the school and you have a real chance to make a difference to the campus. You would be expected to represent the school on parent s evenings, open evenings and on the student council etc. For more information and to get an application, please see Stephen before the end of next week.

Final word... This will be a very busy year for you and you will be making some big decisions about your future. As always the Post 16 Team, teachers and your tutors are all here to assist you.
